It's called LCD.

I'm not talking about backlight colour lcd, but one's like this
Where can I buy a full hd monitor like this

transflective lcd as seen on wristwatches, the gameboy, etc

It's called LCD

you take a full hd lcd monotor, take out the backlight, and replace it with a mirror.

>Is it better than lcd for resting my eyes?
You'd want an eink display for that. It feels more natural to the eyes.

OP, it's an LCD.

But if you want god-tier contrast levels, you should go for an E-PAPER display nowadays.

An e-ink monitor?

is that a thing? shit. I'm gonna check.

Play & Place Visionect is what you want, OP.
PRICEY

>Is it better than lcd for resting my eyes?

How dumb/underaged is this board?

Imagine using a Kindle Paperwhite, but without the Kindle attached to it. You can buy the displays.

>he doesn't use a vacuum fluorescent display

>let's blast cancer right into my eyes!

899 Euros? This is BS. Go buy some chinkshit instead.

Wow that's cool but it's too small

I love your gif. Maybe buying a Kindle is ok too if it can do more than display books.

It's called an LCD, though the type you're looking for is specifically an STN display, aka Super Twisted Nematic instead of a TFT. They have horrible viewing angles and contrast, making them far worse on the eyes. Look for an e-ink display instead.

the refresh is a lot worse than in the gif though, the whole fucking screen refreshes and you can see it a lot more than in the gif.
It's not a problem when you are reading books though

Buy a display magnifier.

Nice idea, why is optical scaling so much better than digital? mpv with 32bit floats still looks like garbage compared to 480p projectors and CRTs

I think video codecs have something to do with it because if you scale a GIF image it can look higher quality than video at the same filesize

E-ink is obviously the better technology in terms of low power monochrome displays but they don't have the same nostalgia factor as transflective LCDs. Do modern transfection LCD monitors with standard connections actually exist?

Man, this looks like maximum comfy.
Now I wanna get an e-paper screen for TTY use.

you can buy monochrome lcd monitors and small eink monitors

Wait, they actually exist?
What connectors do they use?
How much do they cost?
Where the fuck can they be bought?

that's an LCD, namely an LCD with a reflective backing rather than a backlight

fyi there's no correlation between 'reflective' and 'greyscale'
you can have both reflective and colour lcd's
