To gain upload for class progression? Sure. You need to achieve an average 0.6 ratio, with anything about that a bonus.
To gain buffer with a 10gbps+ seedbox? Definitely, with an indiscriminate 201[7-8] FLAC filter.
If you have a seedbox of 1gbps or less? Set tighter, more targeted filters and ban any uploaders that give you poor ratio.

On a single FLAC? You need to snatch more than one. If you snatch a hundred some will be 0.1, some 0.5 and others 1.8. You are doing good for class progression as long as the average of the 100 torrents is above 0.6.

They are pointless if you want to quickly build upload for class progression and don't care about buffer.
