New wireless service started up nearby too, averaging 80mbps according to some guys who live near me for the same price. Considering switching.

Don't even ask about the land line, literal dog turd connected to a node and then another node 8km away... Lovely 4mbps, or 2.5mbps in peak time... Also unstable as fuck. Australia in a nutshell.

Same deal except on FTTP.
Daylight is as Pic.
After dark it drops to 1 - 5 MBs down and stays at 30+ for up.
Netflix kills it.

So lucky

If you're switching from one wireless to another, it might not end up as well as you'd think. If every ISP is on the same tower, what would switching really do? Sure ISPs do have their own bandwidth, but if the tower's maxed out, like. Cunt's fucked. baka nbnco

>FTTN
>$79
>Unmetered 50/20

still straya prices but otherwise

Nah it's a different tower, from my house (hilly area), I can spot 4-5 towers. 3 of them are phone towers and the other 2 are ISPs.

Not bad. Good luck
I know some people down here that are in the worst 10 towers in the country. It's not pretty

Will only be worth it when nbnco lowers the CVC prices, and this won't happen for years knowing them

smoke signal internet

You win.

didn't they recently change it to unlimited on all their plans? Mine was limited till a couple months ago

kys m8.

Here I am on a shitty ADSL connection, far far away from the exchange. I'd kill to have FTTP.

NuSkope are an Adelaide WISP that use unlicenced bands to provide internet, separate to the NBN.

where? i'm in a sydney suburb and my internet is garbo

Perth. Actually about 40mins out of cbd. The upload speed annoys me but i mean its not too bad. I had to live with telstras garbage monopoly ($90/m, 100gb 4m down / 0.5 up) for way too long so im glad to have this now. Its still not that fast but whatever. Im suprised Sydney is that bad

I get 150/15

ISP trying to tell me I don't need more than 15 for uploads.

Fucking slow as shit and stupid considering I'm paying most money for speeds (no fibre)

Barely anyone offers good upload plans

Coaxial is difficult to get higher upload speed. The infrastructure was built for TV and internet was added as an after thought.

That glorious Comcast internet... I pay for 120Mpbs but my modem tops out at 100Mpbs and I'm not going to rent one from Comcast. Their trash equipment doesn't allow for the DNS server to be changed.

This test was done over Wifi, if I connect over ethernet I get specs closer to
> ~5ms latency
> ~95 Mpbs down
> ~45 Mbps up
Depends on the time of day though.

I'm pretty satisfied. They offer gigabit now, but its $30/month more and I don't really have any practical need for the extra speed.

lol wut ?

I am doing better than most of my friends, they're still stuck with dogshit cable lines that barely put out 6mbps and constantly drop out... Meanwhile our city is planning on installing 10gbps in the CBD, look up 10gigAdelaide.

>Now, I don't know what to do with all this fucking speed.
I feel like this is true of most people. Unless you're donating it for torrents or sharing it with others on one network it doesn't matter how good your down is since you're at the mercy of what the host provides, and for maximum efficiency using all of it constantly.

95 burger bucks. Att unlimited.... Never fucking ever I have reached even close to 700mbps, Google drive downloads are the fastest at about 600mbps. Microsoft comes second at about 400, steam doesn't go over 200mbps. I only keep it because it's unlimited.

Attached: Screenshot_Chrome_20180618-100134.png (1080x1920, 111K)

Not the guy you were responding to, but this is partially true. If you're sharing your WiFi with family or friends, you really appreciate the speeds when you get down to game while 5 others are streaming 1080p videos from here and there.

Australia is literally a shithole.

Why the fuck are you peopling abandoning fiber???? Why the fuck are you people importing Chinks and pajeets? What the fuck are Australians doing !?!?!??!?! Aussies are nice people, but holy shit, what is wrong with your politics and immigration policies. There are literally no Aussies in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, there's only Chinks and pajeets there.

if you don't have 100/100 or more, you just kill yourself

Attached: asd.png (484x134, 8K)

I'm a patient man. Most of my downloads are tv shows from RSS feeds which happen automatically anyway so I won't even notice if they finish in 1 second or 1 hour.

20 down 5 up
Honestly It'd be cool to have some whacky speeds, but as long as I can HD stream and browse the net comfortably I'm happy. Only really need 10 down for that.
I'm more interested in 5G wireless, with anonymisation capabilities.

100/40 works fine for me, anything faster means a massive jump in price (from $99 a month to like $155+ for 150/100)

that's $35 for me

$99 is just absurd, is your ISP running a monopoly in your city?

>Adelaide, SA
>NBN
>$100 per month
>Unlimited

Attached: 7402938931.png (350x200, 21K)

it's about 73 burger tokens, if USD makes more sense to you

the way internets works here in straya is that there's only a couple networks that wholesale shit out to a fuckload of retailers, so everyone's pricing is roughly the same

>New wireless service started up nearby too, averaging 80mbps according to some guys who live near me for the same price. Considering switching.
whats their name?

>0ms

that's just not possible unless the server that you were pinging to is within 10 miles

entirely possible in adelaide, place is tiny

you ever been to adelaide lmao city radius is probably 10 miles

How do you guys find companies that offer fiber w/100mb + download speeds? All the companies I know of only offer ~20 mbs

The slowest speed my ISP has is 100mbps.

Attached: 2018-06-18 13_45_46.png (972x378, 36K)

>data cap

What a cuck

speedof.me is fucking garbage for high speeds.

Maxing out at 128MB test file size is fucking retarded for higher speeds, it leaves no room for the speeds to ramp up, if you gave me a gigabyte test file, sure i'll hit 800mbps+, but on 128MB? That's only testing the initial burst speed, which in no way represents the full bandwidth potential.

When I can get 600-700mbps on torrents, you know a speedtest is bullshit when it tells you it's capping out at below 500mbps.

Attached: 2018-06-18 13_59_09.png (448x84, 15K)

looking at some of these speeds makes me want to kill myself.
