Lincucks can't even change the location of the package installing and the only way to install a package after space runs out is to repartition the drive.
And how you get the native binary version instead of the java-like crap that stutters like a naked white rapper?

Skyrim is quite old by now, its probably close to the Winezone, where windows stops supporting the thing correctly and Wine picks up the job.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
Don't forget >try to uninstall edge >can't uninstall it >research online how to uninstall edge >long, convoluted instructions >follow them >restart computer >it's uninstalled >Windows updates and reinstalls edge

It probably will get supported at some point, probably at the same point windows 10 will drop support to it.

Yeah, just change the relevant env variable, check the readme on Github It's Windows, you can't have an actual, full blown, package manager. If you can settle for this, fine, otherwise, just move to a different OS. There was an attempt with Chocolatey but it just doesn't work with all the mess of packages distributed online. Windows was not designed with a centralized package installation system in mind and you can't really fix that
Adrian Sanders

Yes I did and your argument is shit. You can't complain about Windows binaries and then recommend downloading a Firefox binary as a solution to a problem with Linux.
Carson Hughes
You don’t have to. I don’t see why additional functionality is a problem

>Yes I did >can't complain about Windows binaries You obviously didn't. Show me where I complained about windows binaries. You clearly don't even know what's being argued about.
Kayden Flores
That’s an exaggerated experience and is obvious to anyone who has used linux. You don’t need to add sources manually unless they’re untrusted. Firefox is always in the main repos so that point is moot. If it installs an out of date version, which is unusual, software updaters come with most distros and it simply asks if you want to update this. That post is also redundant when it says >add the source with the version you want >...it’s ancient >add a different source Is totally unnecessary if you actually added the source for the version wanted.
Jack Rivera
>rolling release >update >system breaks
>fixed release >update >still not the latest version of software
>You can't complain about Windows binaries and then recommend downloading a Firefox binary as a solution to a problem with Linux. >a problem with Linux >See why had to do it in the first place. Thanks for giving proper confirmation of what was already suspected: That most winfags here attacking linux gets their arguments only from what they hear on Jow Forums and without checking the validity or testing by themselves.
What is described in is obviously a satire that you guys believed as a true and that now you guys used as an argument ridiculing yourselves in the process. The thing is that on linux you have both ways to install programs: with package managers and the way is done on windows. You're not limited to one and yet on windows you don't have a proper package manager yet.
>grasping at straws How so? Unmodded Skyrim is shit. >Wrong Glad to hear that. Though OP on Reddit definitely didn't get a smooth experience.
Brody Howard
> What is mount > What is lvm You cannot even choose much of the time where the package in Windows. At least in Linux you can grow your root partition disk space at runtime using lvm. Typical wincuck thinks you need to reformat to grow. It is only Windows that you have no choice but to do just that.
Carson Harris
Also, I forgot to say that MO itself doesn't mean things like Calentine's outfit studio and stuff relying on Java is going to work properly.
Jordan Green
>linux you have both ways to install programs: with package managers and the way is done on windows You have package managers on Windows.
Nolan Carter
>How so? Unmodded Skyrim is shit. It's well known that skyrim works fine on wine and then you changed the goalposts when still managing to be wrong.
>Glad to hear that. Though OP on Reddit definitely didn't get a smooth experience. Moving goalposts again. If you want to see more games supported on linux natively more people is needed to use linux instead on shitting on the platform for no reason or benefit. Meanwhile lutris makes extremely easy most of the tasks described so you only need to worry for the mod manager.
Camden Perez
>more people is needed to use linux Not them but why the fuck would anyone choose a worse gaming experience just because of some vague idea that clearly isn't even playing out in reality?

I have a setup I use with Skyrim. It does not work on Wine. What do you propose I do? >more people is needed to use linux instead on shitting on the platform for no reason or benefit Which I do. How is pointing that my particular need is not fulfilled "shitting on a platform"? >lutris Never heard of it.

I know, each time someone disproves your argument you'll just change the goalpost untilthere's something it doesn't work on linux and then you'll just say: See, i won, wine is thrash. Even if 90% of everything you wanted to work works fine despite being conscious is software created for a different platform that's running though a compatibility layer created by reverse engineering. Do what you want, no one is trying to make you change to linux but the thing is that your original argument and even the following ones was wrong. I'm not gonna search if the outfit studio thing works or not because it's a waste of time, check by yourself but believe me that false flagging based on what you've heard is not a healthy thing to do.
Isaac Evans
>why the fuck would anyone choose a worse gaming experience >worse gaming experience Because gaming is the only reason to choose an operative system? right?
>just because of some vague idea that clearly isn't even playing out in reality? elaborate, you're most probably just parroting again what you hear in this place again.
