Don't you mean OH YES?

1080 will go down to under $400 in few months as they'll want to get rid of their stocks

>also Euroshitskins will get removed from the internet thanks to article 13

Glorious week

>get 1080s back
>OC them a little
>sell them as 2080s

As if. They will get dumped in a landfill. Ngreedia won't allow price drops like that to happen.

This won't actually happen and you know it

Fucking kill yourself

lol no

they will get re-sold as NEW for full price

fucked up VRMs and all.

How does it work with OEMs? Does Nvidia sell to them, or do they just give them to the OEMs to sell for them? Can they return something just because they have too much and can't find buyers?

This bait news is from charlies Semiaccrutate. Nothing more to say...

>would rather lose money then get something back for their 1080s
yeah no

lawsuit over fake shortage when

Already proven fake.
Stop making this thread over and over for people to go in your shitty fake news site, OP.

Sauce

>bitcoin mining with gpu's
lmao. what is this shit article. no one uses gpu's for bitcoin mining.

Nvidia can afford to just sit on the inventory and maintain the price. It's not like AMD just released a new gen and Nvidia has to respond with early release of 1180.

Not him but every nvidia news from Semiaccruate are fakes

nigga, you do know how capitalism works, right? it might actually be more profitable to dump those cards in the long run.

can I get GTX1070 for half the price?

>mining with nshitia garbage
Vega was fucking dogshit for gaymen outside of like 2 shader optimized titles but I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure

Attached: fmY1CvZ.jpg (870x960, 142K)

They should put them on mxm modules and mount on blade servers, all 300k of them.

Never forget

>you won't get gpus if you don't sign on to GPP!
[some time later]
>oh shit, we have too many gpus!

Poetry.

this.

yes and the the lawsuits about fixing the price will bitchslap the leather jacket so hard he wish the stock was gone

NVIDIA fanbois on suicide watch.

bitcoin isn't mined with gpu's.
buy bitcoin.

You have to be a fucking retard if you believe anything that shitter says. He has no industry contacts and he uses "sources" like SemiAccurate all the time.

Fuck off jewtter

Honestly though can you blame them? I remember seeing entire stores completely cleaned out of graphics cards.

I wish this had come from Jow Forums or Jow Forums or even Jow Forums where flags are enabled.

Do you mean I can finally buy an affordable GPU!?

I'm a retard with economics, sorry - could you explain how it becomes profitable?

1080 ti2's

If they saturate the market with cheap cards they can't make profits off more expensive cards in the same market.

Since everything in that video is accurate and easy to verify, you're resorting to ad-hominem.
The absolute state of NVIDIA shills.

>everyone buys cheapass cards
>no one buys next gen since they already have cards and would expect a lower price

Nvidia doesn't plan on selling cards for the guys who bought the 10xx series.
They plan to sell the new one to mostly people who bought the high end from 2 or 3 gens before.
Like they were doing comparisons of the 680 with the 980 during release and so on back then.
If this extra supply of gpus is real which I Doubt because user posted a site that has consistently been wrong in their rumors this only means that anons will be able to maybe get that shit at MSRP after all the mining and memory cartel shitshow.

TL;DR; Most likely false but pray to anything you believe for this to be true if you're in need for a close to MSRP price gpu in the current market state.

Actually yes. That's exactly how it will go.
The raw materials and manufacture costs of 20 cards don't even add up to the cost of one cards retail price.
It's FAR more profitable for them to destroy stock to keep high demand.

Jow Forums gets violently angry as a rule when the shenanigans Nvidia havep uleld in the past get brought to attention. The reason? Jow Forums is effectively a mirror for PCMR these days.

Probably because the marginal cost of a GPU is quite low. All the money goes into things like R&D and setting up the fabs. The cost of just throwing away the cards could end up not being as much as what they would lose if everyone buys them at a discount instead of buying their next gen cards at full price.

THIS

They are only returning the GPU's. Not cards.

Imagine everyone bought a 1080 for pocket money. Now, how many of them would buy a next generation card?

nobody except autists and people with jobs within the next 1.5-3 years

>most likely false
This news is everywhere, not just some random site OP is trying to push.

Guess they have to lower the price after over 2 years lmao

do you suppose large multinational corporations have secret mining operations in the basement of their high-rise?

Attached: lenovo-8 750xx4000-2250-0-167.jpg (750x421, 41K)

Yeah and also governments

The GPU market is only so large and cyclical. If they dump 300k $349 GTX 1080 cards on the market they lose margin and profit while at the same time causing a bunch of buyers to skip the next GPU generation because their $349 card is 80% as good as a new gen one that is $799.

They are going to have to bundle these in to like 10 card machine learning boxes and sell them to university labs or something. They'll find a way to repackage them and keep them out of retail.

About time novideo gets burned

Attached: 1487818729490.jpg (796x805, 119K)

Nvidia got fucked by the crypto-currency fad and kept prices too high for too long.

People are waiting for next generation SKUs to come which are around the corner.

They are going have to eat overstock costs sooner or later.

no, they wont likely go cheaper, and they wont likely be thrown away either.

expect to see some pr giveaways, and not launching the new gpus till these ones are sold.

if nvidia has improved gpus, you may see these sell for a lower cost and compete with what nvidia calls mid range gpus, but it would probably be a 1160 or a 1080 the 1160 costing 300$ and being just about equal to the 1080, and then the 1170 being just above the 1080
you have to think of these being tools to upsell people.

Its also possible for these to be stockpiled in case mining hits hard again, a 1080 at msrp or a 1160 at well over msrp, and if nvidia sells them, they can heavily limit what you can buy. this way they may sell a 1080 at msrp, and then possibly upsell the same person to a 1180 or 1180ti when the price comes down, all while selling those gpus to miners. they would be able to attack 2 markets that want 1 product but are willing to pay wildly different numbers for it.

The US guvmint does the same thing with food. Milk is kept artificially high in price by farmers just dumping milk to keep supply low.

They could at least donate the cards to some poorer scientific institutions. It'd be a win-win situation, but obviously their greediness won't allow that.

JHH gve away 20 CEO edition 1080TIs

Which is funny, because I read yesterday that OEMs and middle men are keeping the premium price over the MSRP

they completely deserve this for oversupplying cryptokiddies

apart from saturation it would also hurt their brand that's why Hollister doesn't carry large sizes and burns what they don't sell
