Start applying for internships and stuff now. Then you have degree and work experience. Try to join large school projects or national competitions. Don't just grab the education. Be proactive in mastering the field

Start some side projects and talk to your professors about them. Demonstrate that you're talented, and ask them for connections. If you have connections your past literally doesn't matter.
