I've been using Brave for Android for a while, and until recently it worked great. But now I have image issues on sites like Jow Forums, ads that are half-blocked and YouTube sound that's a bit fucked up.
What Android browser do you recommend?
My criteria: - Adblocker - Respects my rights and privacy (as much as possible)
>requiring a built-in adblocker when you can simply block host files SHIGGY DIGGY DOO Sage goes in every field.
Gabriel Carter
>YouTube app Has ads on it that supports YouTube. I refuse.
I still need a new browser nonetheless. What do you personally use?
Alexander Davis
The stock Samsung one lol
Andrew Kelly
>The stock Samsung one lol So Chromium botnet + Samsung botnet. Pretty cringe of you.
Benjamin Price
>YouTube app You mean YouTubevanced
Charles Evans
Firefox or any meme derivatives because of the addon support
Brandon Flores
>Firefox or any meme derivatives Native Firefox doesn't support my rights and privacy. Have you tried any fork on Android?
Noah Morales
>image issues on sites like Jow Forums deactivate some of the blockers for Jow Forums, should work fine again.
>YouTube sound that's a bit fucked up. haven't noticed any of the sort.
Ethan White
No but why shouldn't it support your rights? You can turn off any telemetry and data sharing in the settings, at least the last time I've checked
Angel Clark
You use Brave too? Maybe it's only my device then. I indeed deactivated the blockers and it worked, but I have this weird bad sound and image quality in youtube.com through Brave, no idea why.
Also, for a while, all images that are blocked by Brave adblocker appear as a "failed to load" image instead of just removing it.
Dylan Thompson
Opera Mini
Ryan Baker
>sage in all fields then why is your name still anonymous?
Liam Butler
It works and I don't particularly have a reason to switch to anything else
Carson Ross
Why the fuck are you on Jow Forums.
Camden James
Samsung Internet is actually great
Carter Campbell
Well, it's basically Chrome and another layer by Samsung so they can spy on you too. If you don't care about your rights and privacy, Chrome _is_ a great browser.
Isaiah Clark
App/etc. elitism is the dumbest part of Jow Forums, I don't care for it at all
Jordan Gomez
I use Waterfox. It's okay, wish there was a better browser with extension support though.
Liam Myers
Op here. I just installed Waterfox, it works just fine for now. Jow Forums is fine, YouTube is fine, Adblocker is fine.
I miss the "drag down for refresh" and "full screen videos will automatically take the whole screen instead of staying a square at the center" but I'll manage.
Seems a tad less smooth though.
Ryder Torres
use clover use hooktube
Logan Peterson
Yup, drag down to referesh not being there sucks. Sometimes videos don't always load for me. But it's fine until a better alternative comes around.
Christian Bell
i tried using firefox on my phone but it doesnt let me drag down to refresh which is really fucking shit
Isaiah Cook
Use Brave then.
Lucas Powell
>image issues on sites like Jow Forums use clover >YouTube sound that's a bit fucked up Use newpipe
>My criteria: >- Adblocker >- Respects my rights and privacy (as much as possible) I personally use fennec and Firefox klar (both from fdroid). Klar is set as my default and 99% of the time I use it. If there is an article or site I want to save for later then I'll send it to fennec.
Justin Hill
Bromite on xda
Liam Gutierrez
>full glp3 license >no browser parts hidden away in other licences like PaleCuck >builtin adblocker
When the f did falkon make a mobike app? Or you just shilling this everywhere in poor English?
Christopher Morris
Fennec F-Droid
Hudson Brown
your post is fucking dumb and on top of it you ignore or disregard the replies that actually suggest better alternatives
retard. sage
Austin Brown
>blocking hosts files on android who said he's rooted? that's even on topic with his question. Get the fuck out of here loser
Jeremiah Scott
Stop being a poorfag and buy a Korean device with Adhell and SABS.
Alexander Robinson
Puffin still scores highest in benchmarks /thread
Benjamin Clark
>Brave Dodgy Chrome skin. I would not trust it at all.
>What do you recommend? SJWFox at least has decent plugin support that runs what's basically the desktop version add-ons, so you can have shit like uBlock and noscript. Relatively open.
>Is Waterfox worth anything? On PC? Yes. On Android? Fuck no. It is so behind and unreliable that its not funny. It's about the same level of functionality and performance that I associate with the AOSP or Samsung browsers
Asher Sullivan
DESU one thing iOS does right is easy adblocking on their main browser.
To block ads on Safari, which is super fast, you just need to download ABP and enable it on the settings.
With Chrome on Android there is no easy way at all. And using a slower browser like FF is not a good solution.
Zachary Wood
How is it slower?I switched to FF ages ago and never noticed a performance hit, although I have a Snapdragon 835.
Free Adblock Browser has worked for me but it's Chromium so dont use it if you're worried about your personal info/3rd parties. The adblock is perfect though.
William Gutierrez
Firefox + Ublock Origin = God-tier browsing experience on Android
Chase Adams
>But now I have image issues on sites like Jow Forums, ads that are half-blocked and YouTube sound that's a bit fucked up. What image issues? Why have you not explained this? If you've blocked scripts, no wonder some part of entire websites break.
Jack Miller
>brave it's great but why I can't open images at Jow Forums
Oliver Williams
clover for Jow Forums newpipe for youtube if you still absolutely need a new browser: firefox + ublock origin
