Cause while it's great in theory, in the end it quickly turns into a big pile of shit that only sucks up more of your valuable time. Plus, why the fuck would I give a shit about what my classmates from 16 yrs ago are doing? I moved on with life, they all did to. Shit was so bad that they never even had a 10 yr class reunion as is the norm with shit like this (which I didn't care about anyway). Go and do what? It's not bad as a concept. I like IRC, Matrix, and Pleroma/Maston/the fediverse. Centralization and non-free software are what make a lot of it. It's also often addictive by nature, but I don't have much I can say on that topic with confidence.

Except it isn't capitalist, you may think it looks that way, but it's just a trick to get you to work for free. If it was capitalist, the people who are generating the content and giving the platform all its value would be paid.

i don't imply i'm being spied on or anything. there's two reasons it makes me uncomfortable. the first is that i don't want to accidentally be in any of the photos or videos of people nearby, simply because i'm self conscious. the second and worst is that if something embarrassing happens to you, then it's going on youtube or imgur.

I wouldn't actually define it as solipsism, but rather disregarding the thoughts and feelings of those around you, as they are temporary thoughts that do not matter. I understand how you feel man, I have terrible anxiety and autism so I find it hard to be around people too. Try isolating yourself, and if you want to go outside,mgo to a place with very few people, with those people being over the age of 40 or 50. Being around old people is a huge plus because they clearly don't give a darn about others and just want to chill out and drink alcohol.
