spoofing is harmful and reduces privacy
it takes a critical mass of people (which does not and will never exist) to render spoofing useful

most of the addons here could be more effecticley replaces by built in browser functions or about:config settings.
internal extension pages leak information about your installed addons to external sites, creating a unique fingerprint.
its better to use a minimum of (popular, widely used) addons to mitigate that risk.

>spoofing is harmful and reduces privacy
Not OP, but how so?

you don't need a single one of those add-ons
stop installing everything you see from random lists on reddit

git.synz.io/Synzvato/decentraleyes

>based decentraleyes
>caches resources locally
>doesn't need any configuration

the best and most useful addon

Based

This except in response to everyone on this board in a more generic context

Sorry for being teh dumbs.
But could any of you explain what any extensions beyond ublock O and smart https do?

What's wrong with the explanations that are already easily available?

this is what peak privacy performance looks like

tampermonkey is nonfree. use grease or violent

thinking about using luminous too, need to compare \w webAPI manager.

Anything similar to Canvas Blocker for Chromium browsers that doesn't have annoying notifications?

Does anyone have an alternative for Flashgot? I need to download my porn.

youtube-dl

most random or other user agent spoofers use a list of either old, outdated, or worse, extremely uncommon user agent strings from browsers with < 1% usage.
unsurprisingly, this makes you extremely trackable.
firefox has privacy.resistFingerprinting wich uses the same recent win ff user agent as tor browser, which is vastly preverable to just about every spoofing addon available.
the situations is worse if you use linux due to TCP/IP stack OS Fingerprinting

>most random or other user agent spoofers use a list of either old, outdated, or worse, extremely uncommon user agent strings from browsers with < 1% usage.
But if you frequently re-randomize it (several times per day, for example), wouldn't that become irrelevant?

it doesnt matter how frequently you switch strings so long as the pool of user agents is shit.

Is pic related supposed to be you?

It just redirects certain CDN requests to versions of the libraries cached within the extension.

Is there a point in using Decentraleyes when you've configured umatrix nicely?

those are rookie numbers

Attached: 2.png (343x280, 11K)

But they can't point you out, it just means that they know you're one of the people who use the addon, no?

>direct all your traffic through us
except that's not what it does

Why do I keep seeing complete retards with redundant extensions in these threads?

Redundancy is better than no protection

>uboscope
>referrer control
>chameleon
>canvas blocker
good lord all this garbage can be replaced with this single addon
addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/random-agent-spoofer/
and where the fuck is umatrix?

wrong, spoofing is very good for the browsing experience aside from the privacy, it makes websites less bloated, try changing your user agent to freebsd32 on webkit and you'll see how youtube loads much faster
as for privacy, set it to randomized.

you don't need it when you have Umatrix

Look at this guy and laugh, his browser takes 50 minutes to open and most of the websites he visits are broken and he doesn't know why.
i should know, i was there once.

This, god.

The only things you need is a cookie deleter, umatrix to block harmful web elements, ublock to remove ads, ras for agent spoofing, and httpseverywhere for forcing https, pic related.

>you don't need it when you have Umatrix
Yes you do. Sure, you could block loading the resources with uMatrix. But if the site needs them in order to work and you want to use the site, then with Decentraleyes you can still load them without having to request the files from 3rd party sites. (Only with the few supported ones, but still.)

ras
>not for firefox quantum
>no longer developed
:(

why in the literal fuck aren't you using waterfox?
firefox is full of bloat

Install dev edition, turn on the config for allowing old addons, and see if it doesn't break due to multiprocess

I've tried to like Waterfox and have attempted to use it numerous times, but, frankly, it just lags too much by comparison to regular FF.

it works faster than ff on my pc, what are your specs?

>tfw i'm too brainlet for umatrix

Note: Dashlane is not FOSS, I am only testing it out because I got a subscription from the cybersecurity bundle that was up on humble bundle.

Attached: addons.png (936x410, 51K)

This or FF ESR... I chose this.

Attached: seamonkey-addons.png (960x500, 57K)

>password manager
>not FOSS
what the absolute fuck

I change my passwords regularly and will change them when I'm done giving it a shot. The risk is negligible. I am not paranoid.

I just don't understand why you'd even bother trying it out. It's not suitable for long term use, so why even evaluate it?

Are there confirmed about:config settings cos I am not spending 100 hours on it.

Thanks user, just switched to Violentmonkey

Idk about confirmed, you can follow the wiki list: wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Firefox#Tweaking

because i have nothing better to do

No mate I just wanna download a .cfg or something.

Vimium - vim mappings but in a browser, literally changed my fucking life, it will too for vim fags

>you don't need it when you have Umatrix
I was about to ask this.

So who's right? Do you need it with uMatrix or not?

Do you block everything on every site?

I let through the things it needs to work. Like ajax and shit or some cdn.

rookies talkin to rookies

Attached: Untitled.png (348x276, 9K)

Then having it helps

umatrix blocks the libs, if you want it to work you unblock it and decentraleyes just injects it locally, so yea both is good

I see. So decentraleyes is plan B when you can't choose. Am I right?

it's just that instead of getting the lib from a cdn, you already have it locally, so yea you can call it plan B to still keep performance and privacy

Will give it a shot, thank you guys.

pic related + shadow to get dark blank page and settings on ff
