I would be all for using 4.7 gig DVDs for backing up stuff, but usb sticks are so cheap, you can get 8GB for nothing and use that to install OSes.

The Gorrilaz? Now that was a good band!

Also the cases look so slick without it.

>4.7 gig DVDs
I just got over 5tbs of M-Disc dual layer BDs in the mail.
I use discs for long term storage that I put in my safe after I burn. I have poorly manufactured CDs that are 30 years old that still work.
Discs don't break or scratch them self and I'm pretty sure "disc rot" is just digital distribution industry propaganda to get people to stop paying for physical. The only time I've had "disc rot" was on two burned CDs that I dumped water on a few times and left in the scorching heat.

I only connect it when I need it, which is super rare.
What's the highest capacity disk available?

>SATA power and data hanging out the front of the bitch
That's actually kinda awesome even though it looks like shit.

BDXLs are 100gb
There were several other optical formats that were able to store a lot more, but unfortunately research and development on them has pretty much stopped thanks to subhumans paying for digital distribution.
Pic related, the highest capacity for an HVD was apparently 6tb and they had a write speed that is over 20x faster than Blu-rays

Yeah I never got to putting something better looking for this when I built it years ago, and I can't build or change stuff for at least another year.

Cool I should start sorting my backups sometime.

Why should I upgrade my cpu when all I do is shitpost?

Your 1070 will thank you. Older CPUs can bottleneck your graphics card and hinder its performance. I had an Athlon II X3 and even that thing bottlenecked my shitty GT 730

y speccy talkin trash bout my cpu temps

I'd shitpost on that.

Inb4 this becomes a CPU-Z for android thred

Got this up and running a couple days ago. Was free since it was broken, just needed a new motherboard. Will probably buy a real GPU for it once my next payday comes.

I'm moving out of my parents to work abroad so I want to downsize to a NAS, Thinkpad and dual screens.

How much do you think I could get for this ancient build?

Should I sell it all together or split it up and sell separately?

I have this problem too. Why doesn't Speccy show the correct CPU temperature?

>works fine on my machine
Speccy is still a piece of shit though, I have Virtualization enabled on the 8350 but Speccy can't see it for some reason.

It's a small thing, not nearly as bad as listing the current DDR4 standard as unknown, but AIDA gets it, why can't speccy?

Attached: speccy.png (1402x677, 190K)

>lists DDR4 as unknown

ooooh unknown because it's DDR4. I wondered that too.

Intel's X99 was released in Aug of 2014, can you imagine if an X58 board with DDR3 was listed as unknown in 2012?

That's how long we are talking and it's still listed unknown.

how do you like that cpu?

Give money
