Are you retarded?
Perhaps... Please explain genius.
Wait, are asking why your kernel is named 'Kernel-gentoo'? or why there is a '*' in the ouput of the kernel list?
Why doesn't it update kernel... Or, better yet, why doesn't it show newer version, even tho I updated it, copied .conf, and even deleted old kernel.
eselect kernel list shows that new version is being used and I rebooted and recompiled etc. and it yet it still shows old version both on screenfetch and neofetch.
Install gentoo
Consider
You idiot. You're using the kernel 4.9 and you're Gentoo kernel is linked to 4.14.
The symlink doesn't mean you are actually using this kernel. Do an update you cunt.
Try Neofetch
I did... And recompiled it as well...
i heard screenfetch is hardcoded
And its image is in /boot and you booted the new kernel. Sure buddy.
Lemme run you through commands I did...
1)
2)
Better yet... Like this.
You're trolling. Kiss my ass.
What even
cd /usr/src/linux
make nconfig
make
make modules_install
make install
reboot
Still shows old version.
Install Windows.
Try neofetch
sudo rm -rf /
>Uptime: 1m
>OH BOY BETTER TAKE A SCREENFETCH
desktop fags are cancer
What kernels, and symlinks to kernels, does ls -g /boot show? You're looking for files with 'vmlinuz' in the name - or maybe 'kernel,' if you used genkernel.
If your desired kernel is there, you then need to tell your bootloader which kernel to boot.
