A desktop will always be more powerful than a smartphone of the same period. That is essentially guaranteed by a desktop having much better cooling and a larger power envelope, you can put more, faster hardware in it than you can in the restrictive format of a smartphone.

Maybe we'll get smartphones which are as fast as a current desktop in the future, but a future desktop will be even faster.
