I'll be using them with my PC and my phone. If it needs an amp, that's fine.
>Type of headphone
Full-sized.

I'd prefer closed, but open is fine too.

I'm gonna be wearing these for at least two hours at a time, they need to be at least semi-comfy, but I'd rather have better sound.

I went from shitty IEM's, to ATH-M50X, and then finally the M1060.

My M1060's shit the bed and I need something new, and hopefully something better. Help me anons.

Anyone use a DAP? Don't like using my phone for music but the price ranges are weird for MP3 players now

Repost from last thread.

Are there any wireless earbuds that can work in an ipod that don't have bluetooth? that aren't the apple ones?

why not the M1060C?, most reviewers liked them more than the originals

How's the build quality? The M1060's were shit in that department.

Shitty earbuds that came with phones. Now have a pair of Bose soundsport pulse for the gym but need something that I don't need to charge for work and home.

Looking at the Sennhesier HD 4.30i. Any recommendations?

No shitphones

Thank you for your insight. Super helpful. Jackass.

I am just picking one of two for flights, not a daily driver. Either
Sennheiser HD 4.50 SE
Or Bose Quiet Comfort 25
But I will follow the format anyway as to not upset spergs.

M50's

My old M50's broke and looking to replace them, was looking at the A550Z's or the M40x

i ended up spending $750 on audio stuff after some recommendations and browsing the wiki. i hope it's not all placebo when it comes in 2 days. i got hd 600 + ifi nano idsd black label. i also got a smsl sa 50+micca mb42x to try it improved desktop speakers

i'll say thanks if it's good quality after i try it

whats the main reason for recommending these?

I guess, all I really care about is How is Semmheisers noice cancellation compared to Bose's. I dont expect either to have decent sound and Just want to know if the QC25 is enough better to justify $20 and no wireless.

they're good

Looking to exclusively use it with my phone
>Type

Flexible, but I do prefer the headphones to just rely on the plugs for retention. That and I'll be using this exclusively for working out.
>Sound signature
Neutral I suppose, but I do listen to a lot of electronica, indie rock, rock, punk, etc if that helps
>Past headphones
Using Motorola Verveloop+ wireless earplugs. They're starting to have some connection issues just now, so I'm looking to invest into some actually decent. I know wireless headphones are largely frowned upon, I absolutely despise wires when I work out.

Pic related, Verveloops I'm using. I actually like the inner ear loops. Weird at first, but they're comfortable.

or Sennheiser HD 598 Cs. a bit cheaper. Why closed back though?

Don't really like outside noise when doing things too much noise in my apartments

this, I see a bunch on sale but not sure which are worth it

Fair enough.

1more triple driver over ear
You're not going to get better sound unless you spend $600+

does anyone here knows how much power the dynalo amp outputs?

Attached: 1526693479189.png (253x373, 85K)

that bass hill looks terrible
otherwise pretty good for closed

Attached: 1522051783696.jpg (600x702, 159K)

He asked for V shaped, and the "hill" is easy to EQ out. More importantly the piezo tweeter and treble are just amazing.
The comfort, not so much.

looking for a big comfy usb volume knob possibly with some kind of dac/amp built in for my literal boomer dad to control his entry level 50ohm headphones with

don't recommend me some $600 schiit stack you autists

if you do get these remember to mod them
just remove the pads and cut a piece of the inner foam so it covers just the tweeter instead of both drivers
bass improves a lot without affecting the treble

I don't really think they need mods apart from comfort, the bass is amazing as is.

why big guys do not make triple driver yet?
pretty sure senn can fix their slight lack of bass with mini woofer.
dt1990 got decent bass already though

Attached: 1513910019635.jpg (640x640, 44K)

>the bass is amazing as is.
8db over midrange is far from amazing

You're right, it could use a bit extra. But that's what EQ is for!

I'd like a pair I can use at work.
I'm in an open-plan office where it's relatively quiet enough that I don't worry about sounds leaking in. In fact I'd prefer that so I hear when someone is trying to speak to me, but one that doesn't let too much sound leak out (don't want to disturb others)
My budget is 100 aud, again I'm probably just gonna leave them in the office so nothing too fancy

I was going to get the Senn HD 4.50's but now they're sold out

Thoughts on Bose QuietComfort 25?
Looking to get a pair of noise cancelling headphones for travel and study around noisy people.

what settings do I use to make foobar equal loudness across tracks?

Stax ED-1 is garbage. DF is unpleasant and Stax is doing us a favor with the original lambda tunings.

Will my phone be able to drive them? Xperia Z5

Why based Chinks can’t make high-end headphones for a good price? If they can make Topping DX7 that kills all other sub-$3000 setups alone for $400, they sure should be able to make an Utopia-killer headphone for same price.

And yes, I know that Chifiman is from China, but they’re greedy fucks with no quality.

Building a good headphone is harder than building a good DAC.

probably

The K7XX is a passable headphone
the HD449 is fucking ancient obsolete boomer shit that I've never heard of before

How much do open headphones leak sound? I live in a house with other people, most of the time they aren't in the room where I stay in except for at night. Would the sound be annoying for them even if they are far from my room?

If you currently have closed back headphones then take them off, set volume to 100% and put them on the table. That gives you a rough idea on how much the sound leaks.

>all these losers buying b stock magni 2 nuclear bombs
>mfw the Objective 2 I picked up for £50 arrived today

Attached: 1521721520033.gif (554x400, 122K)

it depends how open your headphones are, my HE-500's are basically like low powered spowers, sometimes I lay them on my table and turn my amp up to maximum so I can listen to them as speakers

Attached: 1521004309269.jpg (1061x1488, 263K)

Magni 2 (b or not) is still totally transparent and can output more power.
>£50
That's a good price indeed.

What's the cheapest amp that's good enough to power DT 990 pro 250?

It’s not cheapest, but get Topping DX7.

>sometimes I lay them on my table and turn my amp up to maximum so I can listen to them as speakers
Imagine this state of speakerlets.

SMSL M3 amp/dac combo. 2x better then topping

Anything better than the Superlux HD-668B out there for the price, or should I just rebuy the same thing?
My current ones just died after that dumb little bit cracked open after a year of heavy use.

smsl m3

just solder or twist it directly to wires if you got no money

>3x the price of the headphones

Just fix it. Or take it to an electronics repairman, he'll fix it in a couple of minutes for cheap

Rich American kids simply lack the concept that things can be fixed. "Momma just get me a new oooone"

I'm going to buy M40X soon, give me reasons not to

I don't have a soldering kit or anything, and going to a repairman just to fix a pair of 30 euro headphones strikes me as dubious value.

hot glue

takstar pro 82

>smoother frequency response
>much more comfy even when the m40x has replacement pads
>cheaper

m40x should only be purchased when the takstar pro 82 is not avaliable for some reason.

Is Stax L300 a meme bros?

Attached: 1432847736231.png (1070x601, 463K)

Nope if we’re talking about SQ, but the default earpads are thin as fuck and may be extremely uncomfortable for some. Recommend testing yourself if it’s possible, could be a deal-breaker.

Are there any recommended Pro 82 EQ settings?

AKG K240s (or Massdrop x AKG M220 - same thing for $50). Better than Superlux.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (1188x478, 117K)

no it's an amazing headphone, but keep in mind you aren't getting high end stax you're getting the most entry level stax that's current

imo if you're going down the electrostat path just get a middle of the road pair of stax

Day 13 of waiting for my new speakers. I got my Skylan stands yesterday and have been slowly assembling them. Man, I suck at this.
