GOLANG is the best language currently out.

Why does Jow Forums pretend like it's shit?

Because all Jow Forums has ever done is Lisp fizzbuzz and Rust shilling.

You can't make a kernel with Golang, a.k.a. the only programation that matters.

Because Rust is better.

Because it is, Rust is the only true new language out there.

Rust code is ugly.

Noone smart will touch that shit

waaah

In Go, how do you work with polymorphism?
For example I can create type constraints like this:
type
Comparable = concept a, b
type(a < b) is bool
type(a == b) is bool

Now I can use Comparable as a polymorphic type:
proc sort(ls: var arr[Comparable) = #...

Can you do this on go?

>it's FOSS but made by Google so it's botnet
Did you know 4G and flashdrives were invented by Israel?

stolen*

Because it's
>Google

That aside, Ken Thompson's worked on it; that alone makes it a good language.

It has a cute mascot.
That's all I can think about it.
Most of everything I ever do at my work is either c++ or C# with some rare cases we touch some shit in pascal and that's extremely rare.

Thanks for proving my point

@66780685
No point was made.

OP is woke af

Does it have generics yet?

it will soon

How do I write typesafe traverse_ in Go?

How is go 2 going? I think I haven't heard a word about it in like a year or so.

not everything botnet creates is bad, this is one of those things.

go2 is a myth

Nah it's real
Why is this a bad thing? None of you are "brilliant" programmers anyway.

not everyone here is a brainlet

>None of you are "brilliant" programmers anyway
I am.

Nobody cares that you can write in Haskell

People appear to disagree: tiobe.com/tiobe-index/

Dropped right the fuck out of the top 10 on tiobe, and it's 17 on pypl: pypl.github.io/PYPL.html

In both indicators, it's about as popular as Perl, and that makes sense because I imagine the good use cases for Go are probably similar to the server work Perl has been used for.

>relying on a site called Tiobe for information
yikes

Golang is currently the 4th most popular language on HN. I work in SF on Infrastructure engineering and Golang is getting a ton of adoption.

> best language

Wrong, that's Haskell.

>preferring Haskell
Good luck finding a relevant job lmao

Yes.

Wrong, that's Idris.

Get your ego in check, your engineering abilities probably aren't as good as you think they are

>your engineering abilities probably aren't as good as you think they are
You're right. They're probably better.

Unless you're making 300k+, you're not a cream of the crop engineer.
I know this reality can hurt, but it's better to accept the truth.

Everything you've written has only validated my opinion of myself.

If you're a FAANG 300ker, props. If you're LARPing, only you know.

any 300krs

>company or industry

So much this.
