If macOS were:

If macOS were:

• fully OSS
• able to run on any suppported PC hardware (much like Windows)

Would you use it as your daily driver?

No, the UI is fucking shit.

I would try it at least once.

Yes.
macOS is maximum comfy.

Instantly. Even if it required binary blobs.
I ran macOS on my x220 for a while. It was fantastic.

Nah
I've no idea how the ui works
I used to be a freebsd admin btw

If OSS meant community driven it would be a great platform.

No, they are always years behind on opengl and other specs implementation

Wil using macOS turns you gay?

yes. If it could run games without problem as much as win can.

I prefer mOS ever since I got used to it.

nah

Only if:
- it becomes linux without GNU bloat

Nah, it will always have undiscovered backdoors that they pass as "bugs" once they are found just to fuck over certain high profile targets while screwing the normal consumer.
Like that time they saved your admin passwords on plaintext logs, the double goto encryption shit, revealing the password of your encrypted partition, etc etc, its just plain bad on every security aspect

Even if it's not OSS, I would totally use it.

I'd use the POWER port, sure.

Yes, doesn't even need to be open source just save the normies from Windows domination please

If it were either of those it wouldn’t be macOS; it would be Windows or Linux.

>bugs are part of a conspiracy

Take your meds, sweetie.

OpenGL is EOL.

What would be the supposed advantage over Ubuntu?
The tests phoronix ran with Ubuntu and MacOS on Apple hardware showed performance wouldn't be one.

More normies are comfortable with it, more software support.

A conspiracy is just as valid of an answer as sheer incompetency is.

>More normies are comfortable with it
Yes, but I'm not one
>more software support
I'm not missing anything.

which software? E.g. try running a recent bash on it. Have fun trying.

It’s not working any more, overshilling has caused a horseshoe effect and people don’t believe all these bugs are accidental any longer.

What you need is much less and very highly targeted shilling, not this broad spectrum Jewish which you have been foisting off on us for the last, what, decades?

Fucking amateur. Affirmative action and nepotism have killed the shill game.

Yeah i would rock osx 10.9 because i love how its designed.

This.

The only reason WHY macos is in its position is due to the locked down hardware. Making it run on everything will be a complete nightmare for apple.
Why don't you neets stop posting about shit that will never happen and instead apply for some jobs at mcdonalds?

meh

No, Linux is faster in everything, probably I just install macOS in a dualboot for very specific tasks like video editing in final cut, as main os it sucks.

fpbp

macOS (hackintosh) is supported by all of my hardware and I still have my issues with it enough not to switch to it. Literally no issues, just that I want to do things I can't do without using either WINE or a virtual machine and that's slow as shit on my slow as shit PC.

>I still have my issues with it enough not to switch to it. Literally no issues

Ok I'm stupid. What I meant to say is that I don't have any technical issues, bugs or lack of compatibility.

I already use it as my daily driver.

All of that + be able to play as many games as Windows can, maybe.

Yes definitely, I don't care about games.

OpenGL is dead on OS X. Metal and Vulkan are supported

I was a network admin for a large state university in the late 2000's when Sun was getting out of the workstation business, 100% of the professors who were using Sun asked for an imac instead.

>fully OSS
Change that to fully free and you've got yourself a deal.

Personally no, but I would recommend it to tech illiterate family/friends instead of making them live with Windows or help them troubleshoot Ubuntu.

Hell, only reason I don't already do that is the cost involved.

>tech illiterate family/friends
It's funny how macos fill almost every niche from the tech normies to complete CS UNIX geeks.
They really do have a great product. No wonder they killed Solaris.

gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html

>fully OSS
OSS is not FOSS nor FLOSS

But they do all belong in the trash.

No. I used OS X daily for work. It is better for work than Windows. However, it's still like using a shitty Linux distro with less customization options.

You're mom!

>Metal and Vulkan are supported
Only Metal and OpenGL are supported. In the future, only Metal will be supported. Vulkan on OSX is implemented through a third party library called MetalVK.

Its supported by Khronos :^)
