No.

Still better than HTML5
At least I could block flash most of the time without affecting website functionality

WHY CAN'T YOU FUCKING DIE ALREADY?

Just get off the internet if you don't like javascript.

Why would Adobe stopping support for Flash kill it? They never supported it before.

Newgrounds was fun and hunting those secret clickable spots in flash animations posted there was great fun. Those opened different story paths, such as on Arfenhouse, Salad Fingers and Retarded Animal Babies. Can't be done with HTML5 videos.

>They never supported it before.
The fuck? "Flash Pro" is still alive but now is called Animate, you can, since years ago, publish your flash works to pc, web, android, ios and even html5, so, swf as a format might get dropped support but their animation suite is more alive than ever.

Flash should have never existed in the first place. Once it did exist it should have been taken out back and shot years ago.

t. steve jobs

>Can't be done with HTML5 videos.

Because that's what HTML5 canvas is for.

It's already die long time ago. Adobe just burrying the remain now.

Funtimes on /b/ with Know your destiny. ̇͜>̇

Just get off the internet if you don't like flash :P

Thank god
Let that shit die already

>tfw still go on newgrounds for porn games
old and new, still going strong.

Browsers were never designed to use Flash, or any proprietary format for that matter.

Then why were they designed to run proprietary plugins? Then why am I forced to run proprietary JS

>still outlives steve "asscancer" jobs
He must have been fucking seeing on his deathbed

Also what about the HTML5 encrypted media extensions that require proprietary decryption modules?

You can't do that with HTML5 canvas.

fak

I won't be able to play these anymore
sharks-lagoon.fr/

The very fact you need to add a plugin to run that crap shows how bad the idea was.

You can do anything with HTML5 canvas including, in theory, emulate an entire OS which runs a browser which runs Flash which runs that interactive animation you're so impressed by.

this
I'd rather be able to "disable flash plugin" and stop 99% of garbage than now.. where it's impossible.

Good riddance, Flash. You’ve been shit for years.

that was literally the only thing he was right with his ishit line

>You can do anything with HTML5 canvas including, in theory, emulate an entire OS which runs a browser which runs Flash which runs that interactive animation you're so impressed by.
That's still not making an animation with clickable stuff first and foremost - in your scenario, you need to create an entire os, entire software and then the animation in canvas. Much more convoluted than just make an interactive animation in canvas.

I was just explaining Turing completeness to an utter retard.

....although there is a javascript Linux emulator.

But what will come of /f/?

>Say some nice things.
Finally!

http is a botnet protocol

Finally it will become truly underground normies dont need to have access to

here you go.
have my favorite flash cartoon.

Who still uses flash? I've not used flash since Steve Jobs said Flash is Dead.

>Who still uses flash?

People who can't program.

I got so many files from /f/, they are all so great and nostalgic
They might kill Flash but they'll never kill my flash player.

>be me.
>use Linux.
>install Gnash.
>Open swf files.
>Still enjoy flash animation after 2020.

Attached: 1526374854934.jpg (474x389, 26K)

I have hundreds of flashes saved. I always enjoy going through them every now and again

But there are so many files that just won't work if they remove flash
what about the widely used flash game websites, e621, /f/, and more?
this seems pretty fucking stupid to try to kill now considering how widely used it is
how about instead you implement a less fucking broken version into a new kind of browser?

Killing support for flash doesnt stop flash from still working

I never see any active website still using flash that doesn't offer any alternative to get their content.

That's true, but google and firefox and opera and every other browser is going to actively try to remove it.
Half of kongregates old games and such don't work. and that goes for alot of flash websites, or websites in general. You simply can't play a flash file in your browser if they remove it and prevent you from adding it back, which means you have to download the file and run it separately when they try to remove it from browsers.

Actively how? Its a plugin, the linux plugin isnt even managed by adobe

I didn't mean for you linux users user.
You'll probably be fine since they're too lazy to try to fuck you over as usual

Crunchyroll

How come Jow Forums prefers Flash, which can potentially install viruses on your device, over Javascript which is unable to alter anything outside your browser (unless you're dumb enough to use IE)?

Is Jow Forums really a hacker trying to push insecure software?

Not entirely true; he really pushed USB for peripherals, too.

No, Jow Forums ID just full of greybeards nostalgic for old technology

> AN I GETTA TEND DA RABBITS user
>yes flash, you'll get to tend the rabbits
>AN I- BANG

They do have an HTML5 player, but you have to spend more shekels to get it. Fucking Crunchyroll.

Damn. Nostalgic flashbacks, thanks user.
>I like the feeling of rusty spoons on my teet.

If you mean VRV, that's still USA only.

I know VRV does, but Crunchyroll's desktop site forces you to use Flash unless you install some Chrome plugin that asks for your login.

what will happen to /f/?

As a linux user i must say that i'm happy that this technology finally gets replaced completely, it was just another lock-in mechanism that only benefited the companies adobe wants to benefit, it worked pretty bad on anything that is not windows. Fortunately the coming of mobile devices is what killed it (aside from being horribly maintained). Being said this DRM implemented as an standard is worrying too.

How long until dies?

JavaScript from any random website can easily compromise your computer

I used to just use TAB to find all the clickable spots, blew my mind when I first found out

Yet javascript was the primary entry point for spectre attacks

in the year 2525
if man is still alive

they should have pulled the plug on flash 10 years ago. adobe really should be ashamed of themselves for constantly putting out such broken garbage as 'updates'.

2020 is the end. nobody will have flash installed anymore because it'll be a massive security risk (like it already wasn't! kek) so.. this board will disappear.

> better than HTML5
> where it's impossible
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
how computer illiterate are you morons exactly? oh man this is hilarious.

> potentially
yeah, glad you mentioned that, since flash exploits are pretty fucking rare these days. way to cover your ass. well done.
>, over Javascript which is unable to alter anything outside your browser
ah sadly you went into retard mode. no, this is quite false. there have been many instances where hacks through js have broken out of sandboxing.

I never liked it desu

This, but unironically.
spyware.neocities.org/articles/http.html

wait what
sell me on html 5 canvas

And high resolution screens, and flash storage but I guess Jow Forums neckbeard's with their T430 don't know of such things.

PIKAIPIKAIPIKAIPIAKPIKAPIKA

You and me had some fun in the early days as well and some faps, but you are unoptimised and gobble up resources so your time has cum.

It's so flexible, modern versions of Adobe Flash, now called Animator can export to it with feature parity to the old flash, only with javascript for scripting instead of Actionscript
helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/creating-publishing-html5-canvas-document.html
They made a library to facilitate this called CreateJS, which essentially implements the entire fucking Actionscript API.

HTML5 and JS basically took all the negatives of Flash, made it ubiquitous, and burned all the positives which were everywhere.

>java will be killed
>flash will be killed
>win7 will be killed
Well I guess we'll see.

More computer literate than you. Doubt you can even get past captcha without doing it.

as another linux user I'm sad to see it go but the writing has been on the wall for years ever since android dropped what limited support for flash it had and apple not supporting it at all
RIP in peace all those porn swfs, stupid swfs, firin mah laserr swfs, music swfs, game swfs, soundboard swfs

reminder ZONE died in 2007 and was replaced with a replicant, its plain to see he didn't even release the ghostbusters thing as a swf!

>Gnash
never worked for me
I always used the standalone player from adobe

JavaScript should have never existed in the first place. Once it did exist it should have been taken out back and shot decades ago.

how the fuck am i supposed to look at my flash loops?

adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
you want the "projector" file(s) for whatever OS you are using either with or without debug controls, run the projector file then either open or drag a swf in it
typically named "flashplayer_XX_sa" the sa is presumably for "stand alone"

go back

VLC can play .swf

Reminder that Adobe was working on ActionScript 4 and dropped it, that was the beginning of the end for flash

>Still better than HTML5
>At least I could block flash most of the time without affecting website functionality

Those few websites that run on flash

html5 was a mistake

this
normies and most Jow Forums users don't understand that flash on a tech stand point is still more advanced than HTML5/JS which still hasn't caught up to flash
if you don't know AS3.0, don't bother replying to me, normie fag

Did you know that both AS and JS are built on the same ECMA core? AS was supposed to be the next JS but Steve Jobstein jewed his way into the conversation and fucked it all up.

ironically flash is faster than the garbage that is html5

>tfw so old that i learned Flash in college
thanks, Steve

was it for a graphic design program or something

And to think Apple justified removing Flash support by arguing that Javascript was faster.
Tech is a mountain of idiots and corpos ruling them.

Do you appreciate now what this man did for you, Jow Forums?

Attached: 1452778089149.jpg (1920x1080, 627K)

Now that they shoved DRM into HTML5, Flash is useless.

Dis sum Mandela effect shit. I could've sworn I already went to his funeral

He's already dead to me.

BUMP

At least you didn't have to use node

Attached: 1486934158051.jpg (779x741, 50K)

It's not already dead? I legitimately thought it was. I haven't had flash installed on this machine for probably about 2 years now.

>He doesn't enjoy the absolute quality content that is posted on /f/ on thursdays

eternal board freeze hopefully
But knowing the chink he'll just nuke it and replace it with another flavor of the month board then complain about bandwidth and shit
