I think one way we can start to map out a model is to put yourself into the mindset of an npc. Turn off the critical thinking parts of your brain then find out what influences you the most. This is going to take a lot of practice for us because we always question everything but I think if we can train our brains to read articles without questioning them we can start to map out npc thought process.
I think we might also have to figure out why the npc masses are motivated to read the news. Maybe we should start questioning them, asking them why they like reading the newspaper, what their response is to different articles. Why their critical thought process seem to not function.
