So where do Scrooge and Ryuu's banning come into play here? Ryuu put a lot of his own time into UNIT3D's design and Blutopia was basically Scrooge's site, wasn't it? I didn't think either of them were connected to Concertos either, aside from Concertos using UINIT3D as well? I'm not on there so I can't confirm

Ryuu and Scrooge are the Concertos sysops. They're the only staff who got banned on Blutopia, the other Concertos staffers' BLU accounts are still perfectly in tact.

So they obviously had a dramatic and explosive falling out, but I wonder what happened between the three of them? If you look them up on Jow Forumstrackers, just a month ago, they had a thread discussing UNIT3D and were looking for feedback and they were the only three devs posting in there.

Ryuu and Scrooge left BLU as staff months ago but they never specified why. This is from their staff change thread.

We stepped down as staff because we disagreed with the HD4Free merge, there were obvious issues with it. First those guys didn't do really much for Blutopia, well that's OK, they could haven proven themselves, but giving them staff positions just because their site went down.... Merging with an other tracker is usually understood as just absorbing the users. He gave Joshua immediately an admin position, which IMO was clearly wrong, because moderators who contributed more to the site should be the first ones that should be considered for admins. Now there were also some issues with the release group of HD4Free, their releases often were very bloated, I mean literally. They often included redundant audio tracks. It was more like an hostile takeover. We both decided that we want to step down as staff as we disagreed about the way in which Blutopia was heading with Legion and all that stuff. Well, turns out that the merge was a pretty bad decisions later on. Last time I've heard Joshua got angry and left Blutopia because his duplicate remux got deleted. Well, then their internals also vanished. I think they're now uploading on TL and IPT.

I contributed to UNIT3D because I've found Blutopia pretty fun when I've joined. And I wanted to do something for the community. I also liked the idea that there could be an alternative to Gazelle, although there are some issues with it. Mostly features which aren't really needed. Tracker software should be first and foremost rock-stable and fast. A site that uses 100% of the CPU isn't that great honestly. I've never could exactly pin-point the reason for that huge usage. But probably HTML, CSS or JS which has an incorrect form and hence causes high CPU usage in some browsers. Then I've forked UNIT3D, because I was unsatisfied with the direction and the features which weren't really needed. I think I could fix the high CPU usage with the re-design.
