Microsoft has never done anything good.

It made me finally commit to Gahnoo plus Leenux.

We're not talking about glorious Windows 8.1 here, mate.

So does Windows 7 on good hardware.

It's the OS with the most compatibility for every-day programs.

Pretty much everything except telemetry went right. I returned to Windows thanks to Win10.

It's mostly going right.
The Start Menu redesign is good, the tiles are great though that's mostly thanks to Metro, forced updates are making the install base overall less vulnerable to exploit.

no. theyre slowing removing settings for stuff into their shitty settings app. audio settings recently comes to mind and how control panel is second to their shit settings app

The redesign is horrible. Basic functionality of the previous win7 start was reduced. I have to resort to classic shell to even attempt to use the damn thing.

On the other hand, classic shell is fucking amazing.

build in virtual desktop

Cinnamon has the snapping nailed pretty much. Xfce is also pretty good at it. The snapping is great.

SteamOS

Only Gnome compares, and only because it copied the feature from MS

Updated twice a year is kinda slow

DUMB CHINKFAGGOT

Actually good multiple monitor support and better performance when playing a game and multitasking and nightlight

'nightlight'
so its happy with a little light when you have to leave it on all day or all night for updates etc
defragging. nice

It gets bogged down even on a fucking ssd

These but unironically

I finally installed Linux thanks to it. I bought a cheap laptop that had Windows 10 preinstalled and after seeing how much of my data Windows 10 wants to send back to Microshaft, I decided that I did not want to have this thing running on my computer for any longer than it would take to install a different operating system.

What's the deal with the USB download? How am I supposed to install it on a newly built PC?

What do you mean?

Is the USB drive bootable?

Yup

And you think literally any distro in linux is any better?
