I have the Fractal R6 with all fans replaced with Be Quiet fans.

>run stress test
>temp reaches 64.5C
>stays there
>Open the front door
>more noise
>temp stays at 64.5 and nothing changes
>Conclusion - the side ventilation in the front is sufficent and doesn't create any significant resistance

You got memed.
Non-direct front intake is sufficent and significantly quiter.

Attached: gplus7150723521160670161.jpg (4000x3000, 385K)

Fractal design and Be quiet are still there.
Some NZXT and even corsai cases are decent too.

this.
for more info watch the R6 define review vid by hardwarecanucks.
I'll get this bad boy soon.

age of nicer cheaper cases just started though with the arrival of cooltek

just ordered the one of the right for 35€

sure it's acryllic glass but you can actually change the orientation of the front I/O and everything is tidy but still usefull

Attached: cm-q300-6.jpg (1400x788, 155K)

there are still good cases for a minimalist approach

Attached: nzxth500.jpg (900x900, 264K)

Would be desent without the faggot glass.

>tfw bought the pinnacle of case design

it's a good feel

Attached: FT02B-W-3-4-1.jpg (560x560, 65K)

What non faggot case can fit a full size gpu? (315 mm)

Anything by Fractal design, BQ or NZXT.

Afaik even the Define mini and Nano would fit.

you fucked up or you're lying.

>both form and function

hahahaha, old cases had terrible airflow

Attached: Image_40S.jpg (549x832, 91K)

One and a half runs of superposition bench.
First with a closed door, another open.

I would give it two full runs, but this stupid shitware closes if you click outside the window.

I set my fan curves very steep so that would keep the temps within comfy region anyway and idling completely silent and the only difference the open door seems to make is more noise.

Attached: Untitled.jpg (2070x1195, 247K)

it looks like absolute dog shit
>terrible looks
>non-existent noise isolation
>probably no dust filter too

Or maybe your preconceptions about airflow are just wrong, ever think of that?

>moving the goalposts

how often do you neckbeards get new PC cases?

if you're truly concerned about noise then get some 15ft extension cables, and cut a hole in the wall to route them
if you're not willing to do that, then you're not concerned about noise

Used my old shitbox for 7 years and hated every day of it.

Eventually carefully planned out a most optimal fan acd case i could find in stores and I think I will keep it for ages unless there's some sudden revolution in case design.

where can i get a 15 feet 4k cable?

Or maybe YOUR preconceptions about airflow are just wrong, ever think of that? Not even manufacturers claim their silent cases are as good as airflow optimized cases.

monoprice.com/product?p_id=15427

Actually I think I've seen a 20m HDMI cable in a local hardware store.
It costed about 40$ and was like 8mm thick.

How is the Define Nano S?

>sudden revolution in tech
Dream on

They do lol.
Aso see a graph posted above.

Cooling doesn't just scale indefinitely with air blasting at components.
Once the airflow is adequate you get dimishing returns and a lot of noise.

>This was the third cable I have tried now with my 4k TV and GTX 970 GPU. The length I purchased was the 15 foot version.

>After turning on Deep Color Mode on the TV and then inputting 4k@60hz, 4:4:4, 8 bit in the Nvidia Control Panel, I get signal dropouts (black screen) every 5-10 seconds and horizontal lines that appear and disappear.

Bought this case because its cool as fuck... Literally

It has the mother board I/O facing up and huge fans at the bottom so the thermals are amazing. Shaved 10 degrees off my temps coming from a normally designed case. Love this thing although there isnt much space for hard drives which is the only downside.

Attached: 2392434-a.jpg (350x350, 11K)

>No, it ISN'T possible that my perception is wrong!
This guy, what a jokester.

Well the first time somebody made a silent case it was a revolution.

But there's such thing as the optimal design.
Shit like rocket engines or ballpoint pens just can't be made any better than it already are. You can see it in vaping, it massively evolved over the course of one year when everybody was talking about it, and then they hit the optimal design and there wasn't anything new or different since then

anyone got this?

Attached: 2001148551.jpg (470x800, 79K)

I am autistic about bottom intakes, I would only buy something if it sucks through the top and exhausts at the bottom to avoid picking up the dust from the floor.

Then people start tweaking stuff that's not broken

I still love me some tempered glass. Gotta agree with the RGB bullshit tho.

Attached: e73e5cbd4bc7acc5f1e79046c6a2.jpg (1400x1000, 75K)

Tweaking gives miniscule improvements that get smaller and smaller with every year of tweaking until there's nothing left to even tweak or fine tune.

Do you understand how thermal dynamics works?Heat rises so thats the whole idea behind this case. It has a hefty removable dust filter at the bottom so theres no issues with dust.

Yes, convection can be easily ignored, it would take extra 50 rpm on the fans to make the hot air flow down but will save you fuckload of trouble cleaning the dust from the case.

This would be nice but a lot of companies tweak things and make it worse

Wait what??? Nigga the whole reason behind this case is to do the complete opposite of what you're saying. The dust is negligible the dust filter takes it out. You're gonna get dust no matter what... most intakes on normal cases are down low and suck in dust anyway.

you don't need to be good with computers to write a bad review

hello thar

Well maybe it's your case scenario but check gamer nexus tests if you will.

Attached: Fractal Define R6.jpg (1920x1076, 218K)

Stock fans are pretty shit and no idea about the curves he uses or is it

The way I adjusted the fans they pull sufficent air with the door closed.

Actually I tweaked my fans to keep the CPU under 70C,

It is possible that with the door closed they spin a touch faster but the noise levels are significantly lower due to foam padding.

Why is it harder to find a case without RGB than one with it? Who the fuck wants all that fucking RGB lighting? Why is this now a standard feature? Is it the fucking normies again?

You are looking at gay brands mate.

I just want my 5.25" bays back for blu-ray drives, fan buses, case drawers, front panel equalizers, and other silly stuff. If they're going to strip away all the extensibility of a desktop case, I might as well buy and ipad and be done with it.

Dude, hello Fractal design are still there.
Although their last case only has one 5.25 drive.

maximum overboom

I have the white one.

I have that exact case. I like it, but I'm tired of my GPU sagging like a nigger's jeans.

Can anyone recommend my a case where the mobo is sits horizontially, or the GPU is mounted vertically?

best itt

>the golden age of workstations is over

I'd kill to get a case with this aesthetic. Almost impossible at the end of known civilisation (Australia).

I use a 2009 e machines case from walmart. USB 3 in the expansion bay.

You could just turn that one on it's side?

anyone own one of these?

Define R5 MASTER RACE

Silverstone cases are expensive, but fuck they look nice

>fractards reminding us why PC building is dead to anyone with a modicum of taste
Thanks for stopping by, guys. You can go back and play some more Fortnite now.

Imagine being such a turbosperg you actually get triggered by a window in a metal box

Its smaller brother is better

Or one of these

Attached: lenovo_thinkstation_tower[1].jpg (4000x2652, 2.12M)

I legit had one of those since like 1998 when I first got a computer (it was getting thrown out in a "free" pile at the electronics swapmeet in cupertino) and I've just been repeatedly swapping the guts until I bought this this year

I had to specifically shop around for a place that had one without the shitty glass in stock

I want to make a rig in one of these

I'm just worried the cooling is garbage.

Attached: lenovo-server-500x500[1].jpg (500x500, 23K)

oops

The h500p mesh is the successor

Looks like overcomplex ricer garbage.

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 136K)

Rocket engines aren't even close to being as good as possible and it's not like vaping really needs any more complexity, it's hot coils heating a liquid soaked piece of cotton.

why would we ever need to change fellow casebro?

I got that for like 80AUD.

there's just something about modern mesh design that I don't like, these cases all just look like toys to me

but I don't get it, because isn't really all that different fundamentally, but something about it makes it seem much more like a real machine to me... maybe just the context of it and what it is on the inside?

It's all the frills and polygon and slanted bullshit and overall plasticy look.

The Sun case is just simple with no frills.

wow that looks pretty ni-
>embossed logo
fucking why

Which are the better brands when it comes to towers?

wow I actually never even noticed that was there. Its not really visible at all irl.
