Install a "tiling" wm
Congrats, you fell for a Jow Forums meme.
>Installs terminal multiplexer.
>uniplexes
>goes on the German cross-scripting BBS
>uses Twitter-tier reaction GIF
>install piece of shit
>use piece of shit in such a way as to make it good
Wow..... How horrible
Btw i3 is such a piece of shit, that it can't even open polybar on startup
Lmao
When I realized I only ever used stacking, I switched to MATE. I also missed Alt+Tab
I mapped workspaces to Alt+ though like i3, and alwasy just keep a fullscreen terminal with tmux on workspace 1
Window managers are a fucking meme
That is a straight up lie
You can set up alt tab to switch workspaces
No I mean when I used i3 I missed using Alt+Tab to access the previously accessed window
Just use awesome wm, because it's awesome
imagine being this retarded
I use tmux because st doesn't have scrollback, and the patching it in would be a dangerous departure from the Eunuch's philosophy™
Bspwm ftw
>Installs terminal multiplexer.
>uniplexes in multiple stacked windows while using tiling wm.
> doesn't want to add a few lines to enable scrollback
> uses another 50k LoC program instead
suckless types to make me lel
xmonad is 10x faster, why do people even use that bloated piece of shit i3?
Retard.
i might go back to debian xfce brehs, fell for the arch i3 meme but my laptop screen is too small for tiling wm so in the end it becomes unproductive af and i end up using stacking anyway.
or is there any tips to make tiling bearable on smaller screens?
why do you think you need debian to use XFCE...
Don't fall for the gaps meme
Use multiple workspaces, and try to keep just one thing on a workspace.
use tabbed mode and bind alt+tab to focus right
i use i3 (WITH gaps) on an x220
what are you trying to do fit everything on a single workspace?
>ls | less
>uninstall tmux
What is even the use of floating/stacking window managers anyway? They're so dumb. I wouldn't go back if you paid me.
Literally the most common two window configurations are one fullscreen application or two with each on one half of the screen. If I'm running an application, it is because I want to see it.
>If I'm running an application, it is because I want to see it.
What if you're running 10 "applications" aka programs?
Then use multiple workspaces.
