>not having headphones caked in grease
user pls

People who pay more than $10 for headphones are stewwwwwwwwpid

based

>mfw I washed them and they were still full of grease and dust

I use in-ear phones.

You are supposed to use some ammonia base product.

by any chance, is your hearing impaired, or is it just your brain?

Mine haven't been washed in a year. They're yellow. Can they be saved?

just get new ones

what is this a raft? why would you wash a raft it sits in water

I'm not a manchild who lives in the basement so I have a decent stereo

i put mine in freezer every month to disinfect it

Do people actually believe this? LOL

ye m8 instead of cooking chicken i just freeze it and then eat it because freezing disinfects it.

jesus christ

In order to sterilize something, the easiest way is to put it in a vacuum and raise the temp to 272F for 15 minutes. Or put it in a vacuum and vaporize highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide, fill the chamber, and then spark the chamber to burn the peroxide off.

>not just pulling socks over earpads and replacing them every 1-2 weeks
brainlets

i just buy these chinky leather pads for AKG 701 every year

>Superlux HD681 with the socks mod
I see you're a man of culture

lmao mid 20s apartment dweller thinks he's hot shit
the good audio equipment always goes in the basement you fucking numale

t. Someone who's never listened to headphones over $10

>left side works half of the time since 2017
>bought /csg/-recommended chink headphones for over $30
>they sound worse than based hd681
>never use them again, basically wasted money
why are hd681 so good? after so many years nothing even comes close in price/performance.

The only headphone that i've liked more that are also relatively cheap are the Bosshifi B8. I hope Superlux never stops selling the HD681.

it's weird that superlux did made successor to hd681, but they were inferior AND still more expensive.
>Bosshifi B8
feels like i'd be overpaying for hipster-wood design.

>large bowl, fill with slightly warm water and a little laundry detergent
>earpads, in
>bathe for 15 minutes, constantly scrubbing and squishing them
>second bowl, fill it with lukewarm water
>earpads, in
>bathe for as long as it takes to get all the detergent out, replace water if needed
>earpads, out
>wring out as much water as you can and give them a little padding with a towel, leave to air dry
it's that easy

ew gtfo

Aren't those the 688B tho?

True if you don't listen to music but only to paid shills blabbing on jewtube.

I washed mine after reading this thread, i have been using my headphones for years and not washing them, am considering just ordering new ones.

I forgot I was on Jow Forums for a moment and thought this was some sort of penis scrubbing device.

I wash my greasy face before I use em

They look fine. Don't burn money. Treat yourself to a good meal instead or better yet, keep the money in the bank.

I tried washing mine a few weeks ago and they turned into plastic dust.
Maybe it was time to buy new ones anyway.

Put mine in the washing machine and dried them out in the sun. Forgot they were sheep skin.

Why doesn't Jow Forums do this? I have mine.

mine were shiny by the time I replaced them.

bought cheap china pads, and when I upgrade (so won't use them as much), I'll put stock pads on

Mines have some glitter and makeup residue, but I don't know how to take them off :(

Stop being such a whore, that should solve the problem.

I don't know how will this clean my headphones.

Thanks user, never occurred to me to wash my pads. After seeing this thread I washed them in some laundry detergent and the water turned a disturbing brown colour. Now I have to figure out how to clean the non-removable headband padding.

why though?

Not everyone is an hygiene autist.

Put'um in the dishwasher and let'un air dry. t.just werks.

I was mine whenever I feel they get a bit greasy with beard wash. Works great and smells manly.

Why dishwasher and not a regular washing machine?

>tfw sister is a makeup artist
>have free access to the detergent she uses to clean her foam blenders
Why don't both of you step it up?

Because having headphones that sound better and last longer is for suckers.

This. They cost like 10 dollars.

"sister"

this

agreed
well, have to go
have been pinching pennies to buy toilet paper and will be shitting for the first time in 2 months

I left them in soapy water overnight. I guess I need to scrub them more instead.

I literally bought and replaced mine just the other day because I hadn't washed it in the almost four or five years I've owned my DT770pro's.

Why do you plebs even use headphones?

Cooking != sterilizing

Not as bad as these.

Any way to wash the OEM earpads of the ATH M50x?
Pic related, it's leather I think.
I've just been buying new earpads every year

Damp cloth?

Tried that, but it has a hard time getting rid of the skin oil that the leather absorbs after a few months

how to wash MSR7s?

It's fake leather.

Best way to clean large cloth mousepads?

Good, now I don't have to feel bad for the skinned animal
It's good fake leather, but it absorbs fat after a while

>Using earphones
>Don't being a chad and making everybody in your office listen your heavy metal

have you tried changing to velour? I can't use fake leather since it's hot in Mexico, the sound didn't change much with my MDR-7506. Sure there is a difference but you have to be an autist like me to notice. Very comfy, the size of the cups is about the same that in those apparently. I also want to buy a Beyer DT770 and M50X to try them out.

I use earbuds.

i think it might be time to clean mine

I ordered new ones instead.

Oh god, I thought I was bad with

Considered it, but couldn't find quality ones here in Germany. Wasn't sure what to order.
I still have 4 OEM earpads that should last me quite a while, but if I'm still using them after that, I'll check for velour again

If something bites my weeb ears I will kill you.

>being this obnoxious
>'xd my life is more important than yours
The patrician train of thought is that everyone's life is equal and that you shouldn't intrude upon the happiness of others.
Go back to Detroit, Eminem.

I'd much rather wash my penis than that.

>wash my skullcandy plastic foam thingies (What are they even called? OP's picture)
>now some of the plastic is peeled off
>since it's summer the foam thingies peel the skin around my ear when it gets hot
I don't think I was supposed to wash them...

Got new pads for my DT880 some time ago, gotta say, i don't regret it.

Attached: IMG_20171031_173105421.jpg (4032x2268, 907K)

this is how you all sound like

Attached: kojimbo.jpg (559x440, 42K)

I have a akg 240 with leather earpads and I can't stand the heat and smell. I tried cleaning them with a damp cloth and shampoo but that didn't really work. Is there a better way to clean them?
