Smoke will get sucked into the computer and the fins of all the heat sinks. When airplanes let people smoke the pressure regulators would get clogged with tar.

It was literally coated inside with tar. Lots of fluff, too.
It stank.
She was a chain-smoker.
Took me hours to get most of the scum off the motherboard. Had to leave some; it wasn't doing any damage.

Heavy smokers that sit infront of the PC all day chain smoking usually end up with tar'd motherboards and fans, often seized up or uncleanable without scrubbing with a toothbrush. PC will run hotter covered in shit.

It clogs them up pretty bad. The most disgusting computers I've worked on are always near smokers. Just clean it more frequently and regularly and it should be ok.
You shouldn't smoke though. Try vaping or even a pipe... Its not healthy, but I'm sure you know that by now.

Yes. It builds up a horrible sticky tar+dust muck on everything inside your PC. Because of the tar, it's almost impossible to clean off. Plain dust, a quick blast with canned air and it's gone. Tar dust takes hours of work to clean and there's always some left.

Consider vaping, it's not nearly as nasty. Keep in mind it still eventually builds up a sticky coating of propylene glycol or whatever the carrier stuff they use is. So you might consider going outside to smoke, or blowing your smoke out the window in either case.

The buildup on the fan sink of the heatsink, the heatsink is also the only think not completely clean because I couldn't get anything between the fins to scrub them but while running it doesn't smell anymore so I don't mind

Smoke builds up like tar as it does in your lungs, except on your computer parts, especially on/around fans and heatsinks with fans on them. look at and imagine the cpu cooler is also covered in a layer of that filth.

You could potentially cause a short if tar builds up over exposed contacts and becomes conductive enough. I have seen this happen.

It's like how you would react when you suddenly see someone cutting their fingers off, gouging their own eyes out etc, and taking pleasure in it. You can't understand this aberrant self-destructive behaviour, it repulses you to the core, you think "this can't be a human being" because I'm a human being and no fiber in my being could ever think of doing something like that. Smoking is a milder form of this but it falls in the same category and evokes the same but milder reaction from non-smokers. In a way the smoker dehumanizes himself trough his cowardly attempt at suicide. The "dramatic cough" wouldn't exist if smokers kept the harm to themselves but since they insist on gassing innocent bystanders in public places it's the only way to let the smoker know that they should be more considerate.

I used to care a lot, I don't so much now as I just hold my breath and walk past. I don't think people who smoke (heavily) realise just how much like shit they smell. Especially to people like me who have basically never smoked in their life. The only issue I have is people who smoke indoors/trap you and you can't escape their second hand smoke.

Well I'm pretty sure that Camel does have a couple extra additives for taste (I like Camels)
But also they put a bunch of stems in their cigarettes too so you're getting a poorer quality smoke.
Although I don't roll my own I see how that could be a solution and a hobby by itself.
