This is just wcc being retards right? I don't see how a tower cooler with a single 120mm fan would properly cool 32 cores at 4GHz.

Wasn't the 6700k only 4.2GHz boost on 4 cores, just 3 years ago?

Now we have consumer chips with 8x the cores, within 97% the IPC, and almost that frequency.

That said, I don't trust wccftech. I don't think it'll sustain 4GHz on all 32 cores for long, even with a big cooler like that.
I don't really care, either. I just hope the 2950X hits 4.45GHz 4 core boost.

If that an intel, yes it's not enough.

> I don't see how a tower cooler with a single 120mm fan would properly cool 28 Intel cores at 4GHz. I can see how 32 AMD Zen cores at 4GHz would do fine, however.
FTFY

32 x 4GHZ Zen cores would encode a 2 hour movie at high quality settings in like no time.

Pleb. A cycle isn't an operation.

AMD chips have comparable IPC now

they said multiple times that they made TR2 on 12nm, and it it really was on 7nm the clockspeeds would be better

Literally AMD Fine Wine.

I'll buy it but I'll need to find a hobby that let's me use 32 cores. Any suggestions?

Rent out the processing power.

This

Just thinking about it is just making me want to either get a Xeon or actual server instead

How?

ssh

There's literally no reason anyone needs more than 8 threads on a personal computer.

>not overclocked

3.4GHz all core and 3.7GHz dual core turbo is enough for my needs.
Manual OC got me to stable 3.7GHz all core and 2933MHz RAM without touching CPU voltage.

Not really worth it.

kek I got to 3.8GHz and 3066MHz ram on stock cpu voltages. Though I did ramp it up to 1.29v just because I'm too lazy to test the stability 100%.

At least Lisa Su is actually competent

Install Gentoo

install temple os

Considering the size of a TR4, it's probably a large tower with push-pull shit, maybe even 140mm.
It's not impossible since we're just talking about

Nobody needs more than 4 cores...........

2 cores? What do you need hyperthreading for? You'll hear from my shills for this!

1c/1t is all you need

It's 120mm single fan.

why do you need 5GHz? Nobody needs more than 4GHz. Here, let me show you the latest 1c/1t 1GHz CPU.

Where is my 5Ghz on all cores Intel? Where?

It's reasonable if the frequency tables are relaxed enough, and they're all X designated parts, so they'll be taking advantage of XFR. Nvidia's GPU boost is fairly mature in it's 3rd generation, I'd imagine AMD can do the same without difficulty. 5+ boost isn't hard to get to if it's just 1 or 2 cores.

That said, I don't think we'd see that high of a core/thread count on consumer stuff with such a low price point and without pretty solid VRMs on motherboards. I'd say it's possible but unlikely.

I suspect 4.5-4.7GhzGhz on 8 cores and 5-5.2Ghz on two cores.

>7nm
>135W
That's not how it works.

If Intel can do 5ghz 8C/16T at 95W on 14nm, then AMD's 7nm will surely do it for a lot less.

Otherwise might as well buy a 9900K now instead of waiting.

Attached: 1289525335314.png (220x220, 99K)

>95W

that'd imply that glofo's 7nm is only as good as intel's 14nm+++++++++
