it's easy to have a co2 neutral search
when nobody uses it

Google just werks.

I do use it. My search engines are Startpage, Searx.me and Qwant.

quack

>French company
fuck off, I'm not using some african shit

Currently testing it and it seems faster than Startpage.

Everything is faster than startpage. Startpage is shit. I'd rather use google directly than waste an extra second for each search result.

A second more of loading time is nothing to "pay" for not using Google. I need to compare the results as well.

because I use startpage. gotta check it out it comes as one of the defaults in firefox klar. can't be worst than duckduckgo

Haven't heard of Qwant before, but it seems promising if they deliver their privacy promises. Results seem good on first try as well.

because searx exists

DeAndre called you a faggot again? :^)

qwant #1

SearX is funny, sometimes I search for something related to tech, science, math or any common subject and it shows be some porn out of nowhere.

consdering using qwant lite because its got less nonsense but startpage is working work enough

Why would I use you as a search engine, OP? all you would do is search for more dicks to suck.

kek

ecosia is a pretty cool guy eh plants trees and isn't afraid of anything

Go to preferences and remove all search proxies, only leave google qwant and ddg

I'm happily using lite.qwant.com.use their mobile browsers too

>Google
Literally a data-mining site.
>DDG
Its domain is in the US, some parts of their code is not open-source and they violated their policies before.

this guy gets it

>cannot be set as a firefox search engine
into the trash

>Using firefox in 2018 the year of our Lord Jesus Christ when there's Ungoogled-Chromium out there

>implying one will get the degree of customization possible on firefox on """""ungoogled""""" chromium

you fucking retard, do you know how searx works?

This unironically
Specially after Google castrated it's search algos with ML/AI memes, and YaCy it's still unusable
I use a SearX instance if I feel like needing more privacy
But it can

You're the retarded one who uses google and duckduckgo instead of privacy-safe search engines such as SearX, StartPage and Qwant.

You trade customization for privacy, any sane person would prefer privacy.

What are you trying to say about Ungoogled-Chromium by quoting the ungoogled part with " "? Brainlet...

can you fucking read?

are we just going to ignore that ixQuick aka. StartPage is the only search engine with European Privacy Seal?

the image search sucks. no pictures of my wife come up

oh that's weird because i could swear i've been using it as my default firefox search engine for a year

Attached: dickwad.png (478x131, 8K)

my secondary search engine, saved my ass when searx's certs died

i see, you'd rather use a US based company because the US is known for its great privacy standards

I use it on Firefox as well.... mobile, laptop, and desktop....he must truly be a brainlet.

I can read very well, sir, you apparently can't. Have a good day.

based

How about more practical metrics: "returns what you're trying to find" and "does not return malware or cp for innocent searches"?

Qwant literally takes like 8 seconds to load for me
Is this because its in France or something? or just the websites design

>Why aren't you using me as your default search engine Jow Forums?

Because.. isn't your backend basically using Bing?

Might as well just use bing, if so.

because you log every click with redirect just like google
only ddg lite doesn't

Wrong

>Qwant
Might as well use google

lite.quant but

you mean on android?

Surely he doesn't... My Firefox klar on Android. And well.. my Waterfox/icefox look similar.

think he is unaware of the project, been meaning to switch over to this for some time.

wtf is wrong with duckduckgo?
thought it was privacy safe?

ungoogled-chromium is barely more private than stock Firefox, and it isn't more private than Firefox with minimal configuration
It's way worse than GNU IceCat or Firefox tweaked like the ghacks user.js

Well a US citizen has some legal protections from the government when the data stays local where everything entering and leaving the country gets hoovered up by the NSA and they can do whatever they want with it.

i added it on desktop just fine

>wtf is wrong with duckduckgo?
nothing
>thought it was privacy safe?
it is
see

>because you log every click with redirect just like google
>only ddg lite doesn't
How do you know?

u can see the url dummy

>qwant
coincidence?

Attached: quack.png (152x152, 4K)

What? You've discovered conspiracy this big just by looking at "the URL"?

what's this ad hominem's purpose?

literarydevices.net/ad-hominem/
What does this have to do with what you were talking about?

what you were talking about

Where did you see an ad hominem attack in the first place and why are you diverting this to another topic?

>Where did you see an ad hominem attack in the first place
here >why are you diverting this to another topic?
nou

Where is the curse word there? I don't see one. And yet you started with (since we're totally talking about your claim that Qwant is compromised):
>u can see the url dummy

>>u can see the url
you can't?
>curse word
what?

Attached: quant-a-shit.png (572x97, 5K)

How can this be reproduced?

sponsored thread by the op themself, i knew it
anyway, first i used ff's search box for quant lite
then i typed something else in the quant's search box and hit search/enter

Is it possible to make it default to lite.qwant?

>sponsored thread by the op themself, i knew it
What?

nvm found it

This.

Pretty good search engine
But nothing beats Bing when it comes to porn

Because it returns results in the native language of whatever country my IP is from, even though the browser is set to English and the search phrase in English. Both Google and Qwant fuck this up.

Doesn't*

Meme fail.

lets see:
bloated "social" crap
slow
shitty results
analytics
tracking
EU

why would I?

Some of DuckDuckGo's code is not open-source, their domain is in the US and they have violated their policies more than once in the past.

spyware.neocities.org/articles/duckduckgo.html

So, if I want to cut using Google products, what is an alternative for google translate?
For me these things are necessary:
1. Import my vocabs from google translate
2. Export into Anki

And do you say that with what basis in mind? Take a look at those articles and educate yourself before posting about browsers and privacy.

spyware.neocities.org/articles/
digdeeper.neocities.org/ghost/browsers.html

Let's see:
>Sources?
No. Why would anyone trust you?

why are you quoting me nigger

>a bunch of maybes
>muh cookies
duckduckgo.com/lite/
how many times do we have to repeat

Well, you're right, it is a bunch of maybes, but why use something that is a big maybe instead of something that you're certain of?

>instead of something that you're certain of
which is?

>wtf is wrong with duckduckgo?
it often doesnt come with meaninful search results
>thought it was privacy safe?
look, I'm not that of an autist but that shit is made by amazon and is not completely open sauce (you still would give information to their servers, but duckduckgo has demonstrated that it sometimes gives information to others, startpage has not). Like I care, if I would search something very suspicious I would use tor, just to make sure nobody is sniffing my packages locally (I'm not sure myself, I'd never have navigated into something that would get me too much trouble so I don't care that much)

Because user, I don't like using Lycos 2.0

Attached: dweee.jpg (311x301, 14K)

SearX, Qwant and StartPage, all of which we're sure to protect the privacy and security of its users.

>Qwant
get arre here

Attached: duckduckgo.png (1701x8000, 2.69M)

The first article doesn't even mention ungoogled-chromium, and the author couldn't even figure out how to disable Fx default behavior of prefetching or changing the new tab to a blank one (information you can esily find on the ghacks user.js)
The second one it's entirely built on assumptions, and pretends that simply setting the UA as Chrome somehow resists fingerprinting, meanwhile Fx has actual experimental fingerprinting resistance setting that does WAY more than what can be done on any Chrom*
And both of them go full tinfoil while ignoring usability, which you can easily do with the hardened ghacks user.js, which no one does by default since it would make the browser unusable
Chrom* just doesn't have the APIs to harden and make the browser as private as Firefox can be made, even after Mozilla cucked the shit out of it after killing XUL and deprecating a shitload of APIs without a replacement in sight (or even possible with the current extension policies)

i don't understand, where am i supposed to put that

in ur butt :^)

oh good my rectum is fucking massive after all the cock i've taken dude

An objective test of the search capabilities of search engines.

Here we gauge accuracy based on relevancy for a basic image search. Let's start with google, who appears to have deliberately censored our results to fit a political agenda.
