Yes, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
>inb4 placebo
Old fucking meme.

If it auits your use case sure
What a shit thread. Browser threads are the worse and there are too many.

try it and decide you mongrel

what is the point? are you too much of a faggot to not edit the compiled shit of the trash you do not like.

spyware.neocities.org/articles/waterfox.html

Damn

All firefox clones are literally the same shit, this one just has a cooler logo.

Use ungoogled-chromium

Don’t trust that outdated article.

>All firefox clones are literally the same shit, this one just has a cooler logo.
That’s objectively false.

yes

yes

Better off with plain old Firefox

No

Ok then use whatever you want

digdeeper.neocities.org/browsers.html
*concerning privacy.

It is for my use case since all the vim extensions on Quantum are merely "ok" at the moment.

Many of these alleged spyware functions are just how things, like Push API, notifications, add-on compability/malware check etc. work.
Don't turn them on/turn them off if you don't want to use these services.

Here is a statement of the waterfox developer:

reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/880z4b/what_happened_to_waterfoxs_devotion_to_user/

Hasn't been updated since March for Android it's stuck at FF 56.

56 is the current version

I used it for a long time. It started to degrade in performance over time and switched to ungoogled chromium. Much faster and more reliable, but I miss a lot of firefox's functionality, and esp. addons.

good

No, it's a fucking placebo. It's ONLY purpose was serving a 64bit Firefox. Now when Firefox defaults to 64bit this is useless. Waterfox doesn't fix even half of privacy issues of Firefox, and it's never up to date.
IceCat is superior and so is actual Firefox.

explain how this is any better than firefox + some extensions

I don't know why but this fucker takes up like 8gb of RAM no problem when I run 100 tabs for more than a few hours.

But what if I want to keep Firefox 56 for the customization? Waterfox has some updates every a few months at least.

>100 tabs or more

wtf are you doing cunt

>Firefox 56
Inferior and more vulnerable due to XUL.

>inferior
What's superior for you? Having the option to actually customize my shit with some css crap is a must for me.
So yeah, again, what if I want to customize my browser to a look I can watch for hours a day? And those fucking colors don't count.

You can with userchrome.css on quantum

If you want old Firefox, use ESR. But it'll be updated in a month or two to the "new" Firefox thing anyway. At least it'll be secure longer.

Browsing nigga

you are a literal max autist

i dont see any scenario where i would have more than 30 tabs open at a given time

and most of the time you only need like 3-5

not him but I also keep a lot of tabs when broswing and not closing the broswer for days
for the last month or so I didn't do that much, I open the tabs then after a few hours I check which ones do I need and close the others

i dont understand you people

do you just never close down tabs?

Wasn't for me because it caused my system to crash for no reason and constantly froze. I use basilisk for my Firefox alternative

>eep a lot of tabs when broswing and not closing the broswer for days

Why are people doing this?
If I have read what I wanted to read on a weniste in a new tab I close the tab everytime.
If I know I want to visit the site another time I either memorize it or bookmark it.

Because I frequent most of those sites multiple times a day. Why would I close and open all of them X times a day when I can simply refresh them. And the rest is something that I want to read later or I'm doing research on, I don't bookmark it because that would make a ton of bookmarks down the road and I'll have to keep managing and deleting them.
Keeping tabs open saves me a lot of time and tends to remind me of stuff that I could forget otherwise.

No? Why would I need to do that? I want to read/watch/download something later.
>do you just never close down tabs?
I do when they are not needed.

You might be suffering from autism:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookmark_(World_Wide_Web)

of course not

this retard is literally stalking waterfox threads

Quantum supports css skins dumbfuck

but not as it used to be. I can't change the browser itself.
If I could use userstyles.org/styles/135593/firefox-edge-light-dark-ff-56 I'd switch. Maybe on the latest version there is a tweak for that, I didn't try since 57.

Firefox is the same, other browsers are even worse

on one hand, it makes you feel cool and unique.
on the other it crashes all the time and has outdated extensions. You decide OP.

What are talking about? Yes you can change the browser itself. Here is just an example of a dark theme. Theres many other things you can change too.

github.com/overdodactyl/ShadowFox

As I said, I didn't try much since 57 was out, so I will take a look on those.

Good enough for my learning material.

porn browser

It's called a bookmark.

What a fag

Blue-haired lying pieces of shit don’t belong here and need to go back to their circlejerk.

I use it because I fucking hate SJW faggots, and it doesn't have invasive telemetry. Addons: noscript, self destructing cookies, ublock origin, random agent spoofer. Works great.

>Everyone who disagrees with me is an SJW
sure

For the last 20 minutes I tried to match Firefox Quantum with my customized Waterfox.
It doesn't look as bad as I tough, but I still can't figure a way to make y less saturated with stuff. What I use on Waterfox has the balance of plain dark colors and text with dimensions of the bars.
On Firefox, it gets some ugly buttons I don't liek, but I know I can change them, I just would need to figure out how. If I set on compact size on customization, it will get too saturated and dense.
And finally, I'd need to change the scrollbar, that it can also be replaced. I just hope these tweaks don't get fixed when an update falls in.
Also, that fucking square when not having the window to maximize to a monitor, I guess that can be removed too. I removed the selected tab blue thing.

what browser do YOU use then

userchrome.css is pretty neat
A lot of things are already made so if you're not good with css you can just copy paste peices of code.

Attached: Screenshot_2018-08-06_19-22-39.png (1920x1080, 673K)

>you can just copy paste peices of code
that's mostly what I'm doing now. Would you mind sharing your back/forward icon?
Also, I just removed these three points on the right. What's left for me would be:
>edit back/forward/reload icons
>edit menu hamburger for 3 points
>edit scrollbar to make it minimalist
>get a "save in folder" add-on
>merge/transfer all my scripts

What addon's can't you get in UC, that you can get in FF?

Those icons are default in firefox

Oh, right, the compact one. On a 1440 screen it looks too tiny, so I don't use the compact size.

nah just use chrome mate

>Whoever wrote this thinks brave has a better ui than Chrome
What an absolute delusional faggot

>ctrl+f "firefox"
nice one user! maybe next time you can learn to read the thread!

Butthurt, shill?
Waterfox, because I don’t listen to FUD
I’ve been ITT longer than you retard.

I still can't figure out how to get a custom floating scrollbar. There is a reddit thread and I tried all the ways but I still can't enable that.
Does it mean that it doesn't work with 61?

what is that

The thing uses quite a bit of RAM.
I've got plenty of RAM but christ I've never used more than a gig when using Firefox.

only FUD is using Waterfox lol. Do basic research and don't use any version of Firefox, official branches or forks.

>Everyone who disagrees with me is a shill
Mmm

Because this

Comodo IceDragon runs at half the resources as Waterfox

Everyone (you) who reposts the same debunked bullshit are shills.

>I wont use an open source software because of their political views
>t. ad I have never seen.

Been using firefox for 10 years and whil I'm aware of their sjw bullshit I have never seen a single sjw thing on my browser. These "tips" and "articles" are optional

Greasemonkey has a better interface than Violentmonkey imo, but chromium handles JS way better.
YouTube+ as an addon instead of through a userscript.
New Tab Homepage addon is more minimal on Waterfox. The alternative I use on UC takes time to redirect. (Ideally I would like the old firefox config option to just set the new tab page, but they clipped that)

Waterfox, Nightly, Iridium, Pale Moon, or Ungoogled?

Reposts what debunked bullshit?

If its so worth it why doeznt linux?

>DISABLE COMPILE FLAGS, CHANGES LOGO

please donate to my patreon.

down them all

>Been using firefox for 10 years and whil I'm aware of their sjw bullshit I have never seen a single sjw thing on my browser. These "tips" and "articles" are optional
unfortunately most people arent smart enough to get 99% of sjw pandering is pure pr and no diversity hire is ever going to do anything meaningful in the product

Yes.

Its logo looks like a womb.
