I know Samshit and others made you think the only way to get updates was to install them yourself, but these are better, brighter days. I'd be nice to have the choice, but Nokia is giving us vanilla android with timely updates no matter what and that's good enough for me.

My previous experiences. SGS2 had some nice features in it's ROMs, but was prone to freezing and had shit battery life. Z1c lost all its DRM licences (or something like that) and was _really_ buggy even on vanilla CyanogenMod up to the point that I returned to stock with ancient Android version instead. Nexus 4 also had various problems.

I haven't seen or used any device that would have worked as well as with stock rom.
