Best linux distro for shitty craptops

I use Devuan because its lightweight and I can't be fucked to install Gentoo or Arch because of how much time it consumes.

You don't need anything else just Dev/Debian with XFCE.

I too use Devuan with XFCE because it just works. Have you updated the kernel to 4.17?

I'm using mint+i3 on an old netbook and it works well enough

Cam you explain how to get the wifi working on it? I skipped wifi setup on install and there's no utility to set it up
pls help

I am not sure I gotta check

I am not sure how to fix the problem myself. I do the most ghetto shit ever bro, I just use a wifi hotspot with my phone and have it close to my PC.

can you explain how to manually set up the wlan0
it shows it failed on bootup
I'm a retard at this shit

Not OP, but you need to either add-non free repos and install from there or get a wireless card that has open source drivers such as a lot of the Atheros chips

I don't think it's picking up the wifi device at all and I have no way to install drivers

also its not mounting my internal drive onto fd0 properly

how about a usb wifi dongle

Then idk I have been just dealing with the problem because I am too busy to deal with it atm. My wifi works tho, just barely. It's very weak.

I am using one of these for WiFi wikidevi.com/wiki/ALFA_Network_AWUS036NHA and using the ath9k driver

This is my kernel version:

4.9.0-6-amd64

MX Linux

cloverOS takes exactly 2 mins to install

I googled it.

>the Jow Forums operating system

wut

Cheers mate, I'm on 4.9 something as well, just wanted to see if anyone had upstreamed the latest version with no issues

So is this just gentoo but really easy install?

kys

Bunsenlabs or arch labs

lubuntu is fine, get the fuck over yourself you pretentious fuck.

ye

Use Clover OS, it's gentoo with a Jow Forums flavor.

just hook it up to your wifi cable :^)

Devuan is good, and I have the ASCII release on my laptop now.

Rather satisfied with performance and ease of use, but I've never used Debian and I'm assuming that's inherited.
