Did anyone used to be really into new technology and new models of smart phones and different brands and stuff when they were younger, but now they just don't care because everything is good enough to do whatever they want?
I want to get back into technology, but what is there exactly? What is the new cool consumer technology?
Similar interest when I was younger, but I lost interest for a different reason.
I didn’t come to fear/shill against technology per se, but I came to hate the people running the stuff. Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, whoever; it just seems that you can’t find honest people nowadays that don’t want to just auction off your personal information or report you to the local government for saying something slightly politically incorrect. Anyone that has an opinion that differs from the big companies always gets fucked over, as these companies create echo chambers the brainwash the common person. Anyways, sorry to get all tinfoil hat on you there, but I once shared the same interest and also wish I could have it back.

>I want to get back into technology why? if you cured yourself of consumerist retardation why do you want to go back?

I guess you're right user, thanks for the reminder

glad i could help

I liked when machines were slower and people were forced to focus on efficiency as a result. Not for any reason other than it's cool seeing a machine using exactly as much as it needs to for the task at hand.
I'm not talking perfectly optimal, but it's cool seeing someone port Doom to some tiny mips and getting a stable framerate but at 100% cpu utilization.
You don't need to "consume" in order to see how things were innovated. You could start by learning how to code and making things better, or to your own liking. If you want to start getting new shit, you could go for AI phones and setup a home server so you can start working with house automation. I am currently in the process of creating an AI based off my home server to interact with my house and to serve as a means to access more computing power while away. Technology is pretty good nowadays, but if you want to see new stuff other than just faster hardware, then you most likely will have to do things on your own to experience it fully.Take it from me: I learned a lot when I picked out a few data science cards, but most importantly, that they are quite useless you actually plan to DO anything with them. A lot of stuff is just kept away from the mainstream consumer because ease of access is never going to be reasonably good for anyone who is dumb enough to drop in a 1000$ for an iPhone. The future is amazing enough already, but you need to grab it with your own hands.

Sauce on pic?

Consumer hardware largely maxed out, not much further improvement can happen there unless you're into VR. Software died ten years ago when companies started removing features and moving to service-based models.

That's my wife, pal.

It's not exciting anymore because modern technology has negative political implications. Cool new stuff is riddled with backdoors and whatnot.

Someone else pretty commented this already, but it just sounds like you used to be a fanboy and you wish you were again. Yeah, don't do that.

>Someone else pretty commented this already Oh, thank you.

Do you have more? It's quit lovely mate.

Thank you user. It's a copy of another real anime pic though that someone else made, I just drew it. Will post some more
I feel the same way. My ancient stuff is good enough, and provides me with more privacy/security. No way I'm getting anything more modern that's just riddled with spyware.
I used to get excited about tech until i realized that a lot of successors are downgrades and just add more bloat.

why are you here

I used to care about tech stuff, mostly high end games and hardware. Never cared about phones, fuck small computers.

Drawing to relax is good and all
But drawing cartoon faces is easy, I'm afraid of how well you can draw hands or postures.
Your first image is quite clean and minimal, which makes it easy on the eyes, but your other draws are on the low side.
Practice harder, go outside your comfort range, have some sort of "type" of art that you want to hone on, and try to get rid of old habits and get with the new (not because a book told you, but because you see the result from yourself).
Like iIjust started drawing with practically safe for work porn in highschool, and since I had a lot of "pictures", motivation, and a desire to make something to show people, specifically because it would be distasteful if done wrong, I got somewhat good.
Sadly I don't have much free time, and I never cared too much about computer art. I only have an ancient bamboo from my brother.
