What to do with a shit machine

So I just got gifted a shitty old laptop with 1GB of RAM and don't really know what to do with it.
Dubs decide what OS I try to install on it. Will figure out the rest later.

Just throw it in the garbage.

CloverOS

Linux from scratch ofc

>CloverOS
OP here. Isn't that 64bit only? If so it won't run on this machine.

winrar!

Windows 10

Install a better cpu

Mac OS9

>Dubs decide what OS I try to install on it.
Temple OS

^This, got dubs and can actually be done without modifying the hardware to allow it to work with 64 bit.
Don’t disappoint OP.

MacOS9 only runs on PPC machines.
I'd doubt thet OP would know what a PPC Mac looked like.

winrar no.2! Glad to see this get as this was my suggestion further up the thread.

Dubsfag here install gentoo as I didn't realize only 64bit

Old Laptop RAM is cheap as fuck.

Put an SSD in it. Yes, even if it's IDE.

amzn.com/B00AQT2LRK

install openbsd with suckless dwm

what kind of compile flags did you use holy shit

Mostly the default ones, just the pentium m architecture flag

How much would I struggle in compiling on an Atom N550

wallpaper pleaes

windowsMe, it's cute. so cute.

Not much if you compile stuff overnight and don't mind it compiling some garbage packages like llvm for a day. Also forget about compiling firefox, chrome, libreoffice, you can and should use the binary versions of those.
Make sure to have at least 2GB RAM and maybe an SSD to have something that could be considered useful.

Thank you man, I'll take a dig at Gentoo if my itch to hop from Void starts again.

How creative.

Put gentoo on it you fucking retard

Nice, I have a 10+ year old Dell PC that I put gentoo on and I need to put xorg on it still. I'm thinking of putting bspwm on it but icewm looks pretty comfy desu
