how big is "Jow Forums certified toaster" sticker vertically?

I have this Clover Trail piece of shit right here, a Samsung Galaxy ATIV Tab 3. It's quite slow and unfortunately Microsoft doesn't support any devices with this garbage chip anymore on Windows 10 (the last version that can be installed on these is no longer supported). However it does have a nice digitizer and for drawing some shit it isn't half bad.
I plan to use it for that and not much else. Is there any lean version of Windows 8.1 or whatever that can perform a little bit better on this? It's a pain in the butthole to install any Linux distro on this at all (and I would have trouble with the pen, which is what I want to use) so that's not an option.
My dads PC is running keeps switching between 100% CPU Usage and 100% Memory usage and I have no idea what the hell is causing it.
tried scanning for viruses and deleting files he didn't need and killing processes but it's done nothing.

Right now I have setup on the left (see picrelated): router with two LAN ports with PC and PS3 plugged into them. I want to add pihole to my network but run out of LAN ports. Is basic switch is all I need to add (picrelated right)? Will it cripple my LAN speed? Or I need more sophisticated setup?
Brainlet here my HDD almost failed and my friend had to reinstall Windows (dont give me the install arch stuff please) now I have my old Windows folder, but not the product key, where can I find the product key?
Benjamin Gray
What are some good time management techniques/applications?
Josiah Carter
If your switch is slower than your router all devices connected to the switch will only be able to use the max speed of the switch. A switch is however all you need.
Christian Walker
Nice, thank you!

How do I install xcb-util-xrm from source (cloned from github.com/Airblader/xcb-util-xrm)? It differs from another installing procedures I know, there is no configure script, only autogen.sh script and I'm stuck
Try Nirsoft ProduKey and use the /windir command-line option on the Windows.old folder.
produkey.exe /windir c:\windows.old or something like that.

Will a computer boot at all without ram? Trying to see if this one works and it's missing ram and a harddrive but it's giving me no signals
William Gray
yes that is the setup you need and it will work. Just get a 1gbit switch (more or less all of them are that speed now). Even the cheapest one will good enough for your needs. Plug everything in as in your drawing and you are good to go.
Jaxson Evans
>Will a computer boot at all without ram? No.
Oliver Perez
Nothing at all? No fans, LEDs?
Christopher Turner
yes. though some behave differently if there is no ram present. sometimes in the troubleshooting section of your motherboards manual there might be listed how the motherboard behaves if there is no ram.
Carter Evans
Probably fans will spin for a little while and DRAM LED will light up.

If I am using Python and am inputting two arguments into function, can I define a single variable as both arguments?
I have written a function which reads an excel sheet but it requires both the workbook name and sheet to be specified, however I want this to be labelled as a single variable where I define my variables.
I know that I can define a tuple and split it using indexs within the function but that seems even uglier.
Looking for style tips, help me write "beautiful code"? What's the best way to lay this out? How would you do it?
Parker Garcia
>this to be labelled as a single variable where I define my variables THat's how you write an ugly code.
Bentley Powell
Thanks will try this now and revert back to you.

>firefox cannibalises itself AGAIN and i have to spend an hour fixing it is there any modern browser that isnt coded by rajesh patel?
Levi Smith
U r more than welcome.
Nicholas Barnes
You think so?
I feel like having all my variables defined clearly at the top and then my code is almost pseudocode that is really easy to read looks best. You think it's better to hard code values in as I go?
Jaxon Adams
When Windows and Windows programs says it needs to restart to apply changes, would a log out (and log back in) yield the same results? Excluding Windows update.
Colton Martin
Everyone says to build a PC instead of buy prebuilt. How much money can you actually expect to save?
Noah Martin
I think that trying to cram two different things in one variable is ugly.
Jordan Martinez
But they're related pieces, workbook and worksheet.
Do you think it's better to label them separately as variables? Or to hard code the sheet? I just felt like having a chunk of variables that were workbook+sheet would look nicer than workbook variables and worksheet variables all alternating
Jacob Phillips
Is there software to do incremental backups without having to read the full backup? I want to backup stuff to DVDs without having to pull them all up and read all of them to create an incremental backup. Something that uses metadata of full backup to detect changes perhaps?
Angel Evans
>But they're related pieces Related != same. >Do you think it's better to label them separately as variables? Yes. > Or to hard code the sheet? Absolutely no.

Any program/ffmpeg command recommended for converting my porn into an acceptable quality where 10 mins equals less than 50MB?
Nathaniel Garcia
first android phone ever, galaxy samsung A4 no I didn't buy it, it was a gift i dislike how it downloads/updates/keeps me from uninstalling some official native apps do i ought to get into ROMs just to get rid of them

When I use pixiv mobile (just visiting from a mobile device) there is this horizontal thumbnail view I can use to scroll through the artist's gallery from newest to oldest. Well it's quite alright (I hate that it crops thunbnails into a square) but my main complaint is by opening the full res of the image you're viewing, this horizontal gallery scroll view resets to the newest image- It even resets thr fact that it only loads like 3 at a time, so you have to swipe, wait, swipe, wait, just to get back in place... I was wondering if this was somehow specific to my device or if every mobile user of pixiv is feeling this. I suspect it's just me, since I was told Japan mostly browses from phones and priorities mobile viewing experience.
if you want to downscale to a measly 240p/144p so that it's slightly blurry even on a smartphone screen yes google and DL webms for dummies, read up on the different quality options the real smart move is keeping your high quality porn and just filtering it so it's not a huge collection size wise
and not jacking off all the time
not pixiv user but yes tons of mobile websites have retarded server responses that keep setting you back try the desktop version or other browsers
Eli Long
It didn't work, when searching the normal drive it did give me a code, which didn't work. Sorry it took me so long, I'm busy working with the laptop and clien't are giving me hassles. See attached picture.
I have sony mdrxb950bt headphones with a mic. They work with Fortnite and other games but when I try and record my voice in Audition it won't pick up anything. Even when I select the mic in option.

You did try LOOKING at your computer, right? A lot of them have a sticker with the windows key printed right on it.
Anthony Thompson
Yeah I tried that, the laptop is 5 years old and there are no stickers at the bottom.
Ian Cook
What OS did it originally come with?
Ryder Hall
Thats because the product key isnt on a sticker its on the EEPROM on the motherboard since 8 was released

If I'm setting up a firewall with pfsense in my homelab, does it need to be on a managed switch, or can I install it on a workstation on my network? I've got a crappy dell optiplex, but I've only got an unmanaged switch.
Windows 7 I'm not sure what is on the motherboard I can have my friend look at it.
Austin Allen
i used to run pfsense on my old laptop it runs on anything, obviously it makes more sense to use it one something with a bunch of ports, but anything with 2 or more will work
Brody Lee
gparted for gui fdisk with mkfs. if you're a command line cool guy
Brayden Robinson
So I could daisychain it to the optiplex? Like, plug one end into the router and the other into a switch that distributes my traffic?
But did I make a mistake with the looking for the product key in the windows.old file?
Landon Kelly
Some parser is implemented into the game's code that parses text read from a file into actual data for the game.
Connor Lopez
you can use it an an in-line firewall and/or router with just 2 ports for example; modem > pfsense pc > switch/wifi AP > your other machines
Parker Barnes
Depends on shipping and tax applied from where you're buying. Find a warehouse that supplies cheapest parts and shipping is your best bet. I never bought prebuilt, but I assume $500 at least if you're buying from like BestBuy, Futureshop, etc.
Wyatt Russell
Impossible to fully boot a computer without RAM. A computer loads instructions from a program into the RAM like a copy paste for the CPU to execute. Even if you make swap partitions, you need RAM to load into the swap.
Daniel Williams
If it's just something like unloading a shell extension then a logout is fine (restarting explorer.exe is the key here), anything else can be tricky.
This explains it pretty well when it comes to pending file operations. You can check the reg keys it mentions to see if this is whats happening in your case:
Maybe if the bios lets you boot from USB, but if it could you might have issues with the Linux Live CD not supporting the tablet's hardware with its current drivers thus you can't touch screen input but maybe you could plug a keyboard+mouse.
Jordan Adams
It will power on and give you some beeps indicating you have no memory (check mobo manual). But it won't pass the 'POST'.

Do you think 60FPS for Witcher 3 at highest settings could be done with an i3?
Colton Perry
Try ./autogen.sh then ./configure and then make or make install.
Julian Nelson
Format the computer and install windows from scratch if you want a clean computer. Windows Defender and various services will sometimes randomly do CPU intensive scheduled tasks.
Cameron Thompson
It was a long shot to being with. If that folder still contains your orld install, you could try restoring it, then run nirsoft then reinstall again. You could also try using this
Very stupid question but is there honestly any reason why more than 60FPS is desirable?
Caleb Fisher
Is there a way to compress a video based on the file size
for example I want a video to be less than 40MB no matter how shitty the quality becomes
Cameron Edwards
they have better contrast. I don't think they are a meme for movies anime etc. Get an ips for photo/video editing I'm a retard so I might be wrong, but from what I've seen all professional monitors are ips but If you are not a pro I think better contrast ratio is godtier (and you don't need higher res for movies since they are 1080p unless I don't know something)
Luis Russell
10 minutes = 600 seconds 50 MB = 50 x 1024 KB = 51200 KiB 51200 KB x 8 bits/byte = 409600 Kb 409600 kB / 600 seconds = 683 Kbps bitrate Yeah, you can have acceptable quality if you adjust video & audio bitrate along with resolution, etc.
Austin Bennett
Yes.
Juan Sanders
Thanks for the answer. I was sorta losing faith I'd get one.
and I was wondering if I needed to restart again instead of just logging off. Also every Windows update seems to bring back "libraries" so I have to run a registry file to disable it again. It's annoying to restart twice, so I hoped a relog would be enough but I'll check if it is or not for me, thanks again.
Samuel Wright
Looks a lot smooter and faster, also if your machine barely does 60 FPS you will have more noticeable visual FPS drops since it could go from 60 to 30 depending on the game's workload. 120 to 80 FPS drops isn't as noticeable.
Cameron Morris
less input lag If you have a high refresh rate monitor you need more fps to see the higher refresh rate
Blake Nguyen
Is there anything else I can do with a PC that is in that part of my network other than set up a firewall on it? Like, could I put a pihole or an FTP on there or something? Or would it only be able to work as a firewall?
Owen Ramirez
Probably not, depends how CPU intensive the game is. If it is, then your CPU will bottleneck your performance. youtube.com/watch?v=dt5CNi0aEpI
Ryan Davis
you can put whatever you want on it, just a matter of binding services on the firewalled or unfirewalled NIC, depending on your intention
Nicholas Ross
That's only if he uses vsync where it goes below 60 FPS.
Brody Harris
do you HAVE to run pihole on a raspberry pi, or can you run it on any computer you have?
Joseph Evans
Bitrate Tell your video encoder to do CBR (constant bitrate) where you choose bitrate for video & audio. 40 MiB = 40960 KiB = 327680 Kb Bitrate = 327680 Kb / Duration of video in seconds
Ethan Phillips

Just a quick fact check here. If I'm wiping a disk that currently boots from LILO to install a distro that boots from GRUB, it will install GRUB automatically after wiping the disk during the installation process, correct? I just want to make sure that I don't have to do that shit manually before starting the install.
