lmao OP so mad

takstar a shit

>chink shit

Selling my Yggy in a month or two, as I'm kinda sick of seeing that it doesn't measure as well as other dacs. Congrats, you guys and Amir finally convinced me to get one that at least measures better. >:v Not that I think it sounds bad, because it doesn't, its just a little niggling feeling in the back of my mind that yeah maybe I could be getting something that sounds better.

What to replace it with, tho?

HD600

How do I crush my dynamic range on Windows? The Xonar app's SVN doesn't do it enough.

Just popping in to say an ~opinion~
I had used my 598s in the past, and they were pretty nice.
Then I got some 579s, and they sounded like more of what I wanted in the 598s.
I can't believe I had used mdr7506's at one point... I tried them again, and they sound relatively bad and tinny (maybe a loose wire, though.. maybe?)
Either way, I drive it with a Rubix22 - not really a headphone DAC but it sounds pretty good regardless.

I like my 579s. They are stylish and wholesome, too. And... a little bit more durable than 598s.

ath m50x

Genuinely, why do you care? There are dozens of rigorous ABX tests out there that suggest differences in DACs are completely imperceptible. It's not going to make any difference at all.

Her thighs

Did you like the m50x? Or did you want something different?

mdr v6 or mdr 7506

yeah i liked the m50x

DT770 80 ohm. Similar but better sound than the m50, as comfy as they come, and the 80 ohm should be fine without an amp.

The cheapest option.

schiit.com/products/fulla-2
should i cope or there are better alternatives? I have a pair of HD598 and my current sound card is shit, so i think i need a dac-amp...

Looking forward to the Grados GW100 wireless open-back headphones to be released. Wish there were more options for wireless open backs, really.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 M Monitoring Headphones for Drummers feature excellent ambient noise attenuation, superb audio quality with high sound pressure level handling, and extended frequency range for realistic, dynamic sound.

im not a drummer

I didn't say get the monitoring ones. I said the regular 80 ohms.

Most people here seem to recommend DT770's as an upgrade over the M50x's but what if I want something different?

just trying to note the differences.

do i want these?

Is the 58x a good jump from the 579 or is it just a sidegrade?

or these???

north-america.beyerdynamic.com/dt-770-pro.html

Out of my price range unfortunately. HD500 Series or AKG maybe?

kek grados more like faildos

Correct. The ones that say DT 770 pro are the same as well. The ones you linked are just a rename for guitar center locations.

prices for the DT 770 80 ohms
guitar center $179
amazon $155

Actual advice here. Consider the ADI-2 DAC. The most feature-filled DAC you can get + insanely good measurements, being essentially neck'n'neck with the DAC3 as one of the best DACs currently available. A lot cheaper than the Yggy, too.

Of course, it might not make a huge audible difference over a D10 but the feature-set alone makes it worth the price IMO.

Just go with Amazon for the price. No difference between the 2

Was thinking about the iSINE, any opinions on that one? Reviews are in a range from: almost no leakage to "everyone in the same building can hear what i am listening to". I would be listening at medium vol. levels.
Sine maybe?

Is there a significant difference between the HD598SR and HD599?

bottlehead crack

I was eyeing up a woo audio wa2 as a future purchase maybe. I don't have the skillz to do a crack myself.

I need a good recommendation for a pair of closed-back over-ear headphones that are in the 600$ or less category and sound as good as HD 600/650s. They don't need to perfectly match the Harman or be studio reference neutral, in fact I would prefer if they were a bit V-shaped since I mostly listen to electronic like Boards of Canada and Autechre. But not "bass-head" and not too bright either. Something tight and controlled in the low-end that isolates the bass clearly instead of being too muddy, and something not too sibilant in the highs either.

Please rate.

E-Mu Teaks? They’re bassy, but not retardedly so, probably the best balanced version of the usual Denon/Fostex biodynas.

Violectric

Attached: violectric hd800.jpg (1200x958, 508K)

Thanks. Actually, I just remembered to check massdrop and I noticed that the Fostex TR-X00s are up, so I got those.

>Tubes
Fucking boomers

I was not impressed with tubes. Had a WA6 with the princess tube and it wasn't any better than the DAC1 I had at the time. Slightly different sounding sure but not -better-.

Anything Violectric/Lake People is a good choice. Pic is my current set up minus the ADI-2 DAC I've got incoming friday.

Cool, I've already read this pairing is ideal, thanks anons

But a warmer headphone provides a warmer sound. Having to buy some piece of kit to correct for a flaw in your headphones is stupid.

Good lord why would you do this? That's like taking one step forwards and two steps back.
