Only if it's an eATX build

>using anything other than the stock cooler
I shiggy diggy

What.

When you upgrade from your dual core celeron, you'll understand.

Get your alt right Jow Forums shit off this board

no

sometimes

It's called the cuck cooler aka amd cooler

yes?

>being this assblasted
Intel lost, get over it

What cooler should I get? Doing a G4560 build and don't want to use Intel's godawful shit stock cooler

I had to use a Cryrig C7 for a ITX build. It just werked but it honestly is pretty shitty, like many other low profile coolers, if you want something more other than keeping your CPU from cooking itself.

What case are you using?

AMD's stock coolers are significantly better than Intel's

Hyper 212

Anything else is shit

kek get ur grandmas dick pics off here
I always run high profile cloolers on mu paysay
run it on ln2 pleb

from whence come the medium profile coolers?

popular =/= good

see Apple

Is this guy in bed with be quiet or what?

>kek get ur grandmas dick pics off here
don say tht

Is there any reason to get anything other than a Hyper 212?

>using one cooler to determine if an entire class of coolers is "worth it"
really jogs the noggin.

Hyper 212 doesn't have enough heatpipes to deal with high TDP
Also no AM4 support until you order an adapter

I have ITX and PH-TC14PE so no

It's comically tall, to the point where its performance doesn't really warrant it. It's something to keep in mind depending on your case.

I don't get it. Why not make the metal fins larger, and use a slimmer profile fan? Wouldn't that provide better cooling performance?

Sub-25mm fans are hard to come by and have really awful static pressure

Fins have diminishing returns while fans basically scale up in performance as size does

Not giving a click, what fan is it?

Also are there any coolers under 40mm?
With right a motherboard, I'd finally could try to make a 50mm thick semi portable tablet build.

The NH-L9a (AM4) or L9i (Intel) are 37mm tall

If it's a cooler thread, might aswell ask here before trying to start a thread
I'm building a work rig with i5-8600k on Asrock z370 pro4 motherboard and I need a quiet and effective cooler (157mm max) under 60$.
What are my best options? I'm not going to overclock it, but I need it to work reliably for years

Not a big fin stack to have to overcome in the first place.
But mass almost always trumps airflow.

I wanna try that spinning heatsink cooler someday.

I use this little tower

yes a spinning heatsink on your cpu that fucking spins, gosh what a great piece of technology, please go on explain to me the incredible nature of this platform.

>Not giving a click
Ooh man, bet youtube will feel that one
