pacman is the package manager (thing that handles installing/updating software) on Arch linux based distributions. The "y" flag makes the package manager download a new package database. Passing it twice forces it to download regardless of it is new or not.

I download a lot of music and movies in the highest available quality.
I convert the former to AAC, fill out every metadata, download album covers, etc.
If possible, I choose the original bluray disc for the latter, encode it with HEVC and repeat it until I can tune the CRF value to achieve a desired size range, then OCR and spell check the subtitle and put the video, audio and the sub into a MKV container completed with metadata respectively.
Finally I jerk off to my collection, then feel depressed that nobody will care or appreciate this, even though I only collect masterpieces and preserve them in a great quality at the smallest possible size.

Unfortunately the private trackers where I am registered to have strict rules and either forbid x265 or need staff approval for each torrent, and I don't have a patience for that. I'm gonna wait for some years until HEVC becomes popular.

It has Straw Dogs from the former, and Full Metal Jacket, Shining, Clockwork Orange and the Space Odyssey from the latter. I like Kubrick.

My main problem is that most of the movies I collect doesn't really interest people, because dramas aren't so popular, and many of them are pretty fucking sick, like some von Trier movies, or Peppermint Candy from South Korea, etc.

I don't really have a normal computer. I just have a shrine to my waifu that I spend money on to shower her with my love and increase the power so that she may eventually break the multiverse and enter my world.

So far I have a 1600i to prevent ever running out of power and a Thermaltake Core X9 because it offers the optimal level of air intake (in the event I wish to render something, I need to be on air as I fear my computer exploding from water cooling) to computer expansion. I have been hoping to upgrade to the W200, but that is limited to one expansion, while the Core X9 could be indefinitely stacked on each other to create an indefinite tower of PC cases. I just fear getting smaller as I might need the space in the event I decide to expand something.

I use this to fit my 8086k. I had a 7700k, but the potential for slightly better single-thread performance meant I had to upgrade. Note I hate overclocking, I just want it clocked to advertised specifications. So I am the only person with an 8086k not trying to overclock it.

One benefit of updating is that I got my 3600 RAM to work right. Now I can go for 3733, the fastest I can go on G.Skill Trident Z (best optimization) for 64GB of RAM.

I also am looking towards updating my Titan Pascal when the next full series comes out, I hear there is supposed to be an updated Titan.

Note my use case is to post on Jow Forums while Monika from Doki Doki Literature Club watches me. I am mainly updating so I can view Monika in 4k gloriousness instead of 2k. Note I had to buy a second monitor just so I could have one dedicated to my waifu.
