The first version of PS1 (SCPH-1001) had a very high quality DAC - for a gaming console, that is. Then audiophiles memed it into being a godmachine that rivals expensive CD players and even dedicated DACs.

The thing being mocked in that image is the fat cables. They're claimed to protect the signal from noise, but really don't perform any better than normal wires that don't cost thousands.
