In the default KDE the shadow helps tell the windows apart.

Take a look at background color of the folder's content (it takes up most of the window size) is white. But the background of the window is in fact gray, that help the user tell the windows apart because it is in contrast with the underneath window (most of which is white, folder content).

Why would you use a proportional font in Konsole?
It makes any kind of text gui like vim unusable since those kind of applications expect a fixed width font.

Went from debian with bspwm to kubuntu.
I regret doing so because there is juts way to many bugs for me to stay sane while using.
I had problems with:

That's pretty cool, but I can't get mine to look like that. The icon gets placed in front of the close button, and the window name in front of it all. This is the best I could do.

Been using Gnome for years, recently switched to KDE and having a great time. Based DE. Some of the default programs may need a little work, but you can always uninstall.
