Why do normalfags think glossy screens look better than matte screens?

Ninjas

because shiny

The light passes through glossy displays more easily thus colors look better.
>tfw no sexy mattebook for macfagging

Because Apple told them they like them better.

>more accurate colors
>deeper blacks
probably makes facebook and cuck porn look better

Marketing BS

Yeah you need good blacks for the cuck porn

>Why do normalfags think glossy screens look better than matte screens?
Because they do?

Look at this normalfag

um sweaty

Shiny things look clean and expensive.

My laptop came by error with matte screen, I was so pissed.

But I have to say that I'm quite impressed, to see that color looks better!

Glossy and matt both look like shit.

it does look better, but making it harder to see. I damn sure they have matte screen on a fighter jet display.

Because they do.
Also because matte makes everything look washed out and blurry.
Also because .

Matte scatters light coming from the monitor. Glossy is objectively better.

Why do you care? It's not like you go outside anyway.

i didn't even know this model came with matte screens
I thought apple phased them out before the macbook pro refresh

If you scratch a matte display, even minorly, it's nearly impossible to tune out.

glossy is objectively better for quality. The only time you wouldn't want it is if you get a glare. I have 2 matte displays and 1 glossy and it makes me with the other 2 were glossy. I don't have issues with glare.

Easier to clean.

They do look better - but only if there are no other light sources in the room.

hahahahahahahaha how the fuck is screen glare real hahahaha nigga just turn up the brightness nigga move the screen haha

Glossy looks better.

Matte screens are for work. You see normal fags with glossy screens because all they do is watch youtube, read emails, and open facebook. They're also never outside or in a well lit office.

I have computers with matte and glossy screens. Glossy screens look way better.

Because despite owning laptops they never take them anywhere for work where they encounter unplanned natural or unnatural lightsources that impede their onsite diagnostics or mantainance.

Matte saves lives and jobs.

they literally do, ask CRT autists

High-quality LARP user.

Why do autists obsess over matte when both are utterly unusable with any sort of light shining on them?

you can see the color difference in the pic you posted, glossy is more vibrant, matte is dull

Because they do. Unless you're outside.

I can taste your salty tears.

Glossy looks better under perfect conditions.

Jow Forums-tards (read: 93 IQ mouth-breathers) fail to realise that matte anti-glare surfaces attenuate the light emitted from the display panel and ruin image quality. Glossy panels are the true patrician's choice -- matte panels are for normies that "want the screen to look good in the sun" and quasi-technological demented wastrels.

Or have a normal light source, that isn't some ugly ceiling installation in a cube office setup. I'm supporting OP, matte is better. I've always worked in an office with a windows, and also have a few in my home (I like to be able to see outside, gives a little happiness, you know) And i've discarded glossy screens long, LONG ago. I still operate a Dell 2407 in fact, you can have your thin bezels, i can use it with sunlight or a desk lamp. I win in my scorebook, even thou it is a subjective evaluation system i have.

Semi-matte master race coming through.

I have diffusing LED lighting covering the whole ceiling, I have no problem with glare, as the screen is pretty much 90 degrees to my face when on the table (as it should be).
Glossy screens bring out the colors better, so as I said, they can be better, depending on the environmental situation you're in.

Glossy screens have had some progress, they're still glossy but the reflection is darker, in the end they're better than matte screens which tend to have some kind of haze on them.

I used to hate glossy screens too, but you have to admit shit has gotten way better.

narcissism

Thing is, screens now are much brighter than before so you can dial that brightness up to match whatever light source you have. Latest macbooks has 500 nits and that’s more than enough to kill almost any glare.

Colors and crisp sharpness.
Matte always makes things look washed out and fuzzy.

Also if I happen to shine a light on a glossy panel the reflection is concentrated in a spot instead of diffusing to half the screen.

It's also objectively easier to clean and more durable against fuckers who poke screens.

>why do they think
Maybe I just know its inherently better but I've never thought about it. It wasn't a consideration at all. Windows, screen size and resolution, ram and storage space.

Glossy looks better at the cost of having to see everything in front of your screen merged into the displayed image when said image is dark. So matte looks actually better, anywhere.

what the fuck do you use then? Clear griptape?

You can use glossy screens under direct sunlight. Matte, not so much. Light sources have nothing to do with this.

correct, even in the picture you can appreciate this. Although a nice matte display would be better, but is hard

>glossy
yeah i really wanna relive the glorious days of the CRT TV when you couldnt see shit everytime the sun was shining

matte (almost every pc display or tv):
stationray use -> anti glare -> higher power consumption
gloss (mobile devices)
mobile use -> low power consumption -> thin gloss display

a polarizing filter is more trouble than it's worth

also, glossy screens actually cost less to make despite looking better

the colours the parts of the screen not covered in reflections or scratches look nicer on the glossy one

Colors matter much less, than the ability to use it outside
