Truth

are they opensource

No
That is why they work so well and keep ketting updated, instead of being abandoned and tossed away like an aliexpress wankdoll.

I'm still using foobar, but it's starting to piss me off, if I alt-tab after playing a game in fullscreen, it fucks up and I need to minimize and maximize it before I can do anything.

that upnp compliment on foobar is what separates it from the others.

how is poweramp better than phonograph?

>emo rock

It's ugly, which wouldn't be an important factor except that most music players have the same capabilities and features - so the interface is the deciding factor.

What's the best version of foobar to use? Also, how do I get themes working to make it not look like shit. I tried installing this:

reddit.com/r/foobar2000/comments/3fmwcz/my_foobar_setup_skin_in_comments/

But I guess I'm too much of a brainlet

Half of the players don't even support folder view, the other half don't support ReplayGain. There are even some that don't have gapless playback.
I don't ask for much but those are essential features for a music player.
So which one has them, plus a nicer looking UI, for free?

>replaygain
>wide audio and playlist format support
>crossfade

Don't replace it. Though my one complaint is playback order options are retarded and only really accessible in the options menu. That aside, it's fine.
