I bought a 128 gb for same price like 3 or 4 years ago. I have never really used it

yes you did user

you could have gotten a 1tb external drive for 60

>USB 2.0
wut

>Current year
>USB 2.0
Yes you fucked up

>80 dollars
i hope you have money left over for rope, you'll need it.

you overpaid and they are slow as fuck, you retarded mongoloid. a fucking 240GB ssd + a sata->usb3 adapter costs the same or even less, never even mind the ssd speeds

>usb 2.0

>paying more than $10 for a flash stick

Attached: 1534561819009.jpg (394x399, 36K)

Return them retard.

why would you not just buy a M.2 ssd and an usb enclosure?
better perf and pretty small

>To store movies.

How many do you have?

OP, no joke, SanDisk Cruzer are easily the worst USB sticks you can buy. They have problems running bootable OSes, literally Windows 10 installer ISO does not work and it's only SanDisk Cruzer and some kingston drives that have this problem which has existed for many years. The sliding mechanism also easily breaks so it doesn't click into place, and if you put any pressure on it while it's plugged in, the USB plug will snap off. I had to solder wires onto my SanDisk Cruzer after this happened to me to recover my files. Avoid this SHIT!

>putting an M.2 in a USB 2.0

>USB 2.0
fucking retard

this also

Attached: 1522907287233.png (432x527, 159K)

I just got a 2 TB hdd for like $75 and has 40 mb/s upload speed. OP fucked up.

Wierd my 16GB sandisk cruzer can run windows 10 installer without any problem.

this is the usb 3.0 version of that stick. its superior in speed. most usb 3.0 sticks are garbage as writing goes but this one gets decent speeds

amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Glide-3-0-256GB/dp/B01JHLJBO8

but they are not durable. bump them or accidentally drop them and the data on them is fucked. i used to buy them. they don't last. fuck external harddrives. you also have to carry them around while they are attached to a usb cable. it's a hindrance

flash drives are more durable. i have a bent flash drive that still works

you can't buy a 3.0 usb flash drive with 256gb for 35 dollars. that will at least cost you more than 50 dollar for one.

i had a ssd before. it didn't last. failed after a couple of years. i am not buying them anymore
prefer durability over performance when it comes to external space

you can't buy a 256gb flash stick for 10 dollars. you can probably buy an 16gb for that much but not a 256gb

>not knowing 10GBPS
amazon.com/StarTech-com-M-2-SATA-SSD-Enclosure/dp/B01C7G8W86?th=1

>HDD
>upload speed
wut?

I own one of these user. Im in LOVE with it.

Even though its only usb 2.0 its still much faster than many other products on the market.

The more free space a drive has, the faster it can transfer data.

These are GREAT for movies/music

just NOT giant programs

I get some crazy fast speeds on my cruzer and im thinking about investing in another one to overclock or custimize with watercooling.

Let me know how you enjoy yours OP

I love mine!

>256 GB
>USB 2.0

You dun fucked up

From googling, the issue is with the UEFI version of Windows 10.

>M.2 with a B key
>USB 3.1 Gen 2 at 10Gbps
fucking brainlet

Attached: b90.png (645x729, 91K)

i got two cruzer blades, they're not that bad.

>amazon.com/StarTech-com-M-2-SATA-SSD-Enclosure/dp/B01C7G8W86?th=1

>wanting to carry that around with you

no thank you

i bet you would eventually drop it and fuck up your hundred dollar ssds

trolls trolling trolls

there is no nvme to usb adapter anyway, it does not exist. look at the comments on that product, people are fucking retarded and get angry because reading is fucking hard. is says "sata" right in the fucking product title
one retard there thought he's smart for thinking "10gbps" means his pcie ssd will work, "hurr durr there is no 10gbps sata ssd" - NO, RETARD, it means it has a fucking 10gbps interface on usb for your fucking 6gbps ssd instead of usb 3 5gbps. my fucking god, normies deserve a fucking bullet.

costco.com/usb-flash-drives.html?sortBy=PriceMin|0&identifier=&categoryId=30949

You got ripped off OP.

Return your USB 2.0s you bought from Amazon because Costco sells USB 3.0s for cheaper.

the absolute state of Jow Forums

Attached: thanks obama.png (1511x549, 307K)

that is actually neat. they haven't existed until lately, then. guess i was wrong. the rest of my points are valid.

Thats a different model

They use a lower bin of memory

Go away liar

i don't care about write speed.

i plan to leave the files on the usb, not transfer them . i only care about read speed. the read speed for 2.0 is good enough

3.0 is only for somebody who plans on transferring files from and to the usb flash drive every day and don't have time to wait.

Attached: zvn9t.jpg (393x330, 27K)

if you format these, will it overwrite the secureaccess software with 128.bit aes? because i don't want it. i want to complete delete everything on them

Nope the filesystem is dependent on that data

completely delete*

no, fuck you

They suck and I get them from my work for free. I can't believe anybody buys flash drives.

8TB WD drives routinely go on sale for $150
why would you spend $80 for 512GB lmao

I thought OP was a troll but you definitely sound like the kind of retard that would drop $80 on USB 2.0 flash drives.

Got this one last year personally. Fast enough and always on my keys so I can't lose it.

I love it. Holding it makes me feel like a sexual god.

amazon.com/dp/B00U88FV0S/ref=twister_B07FK87BZN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

disable the usb 3.0 feature from the BIOS, dumdum

USB 2.0 was the fuckup.

you're a fucking imbecile if you think a piece of shit flash drive is more durable than an ssd

Attached: th.jpg (474x363, 42K)

>USB 2.0
>did i fuck up?
Yes you did.

He means write speed

It's slow as hell, and only good for short term storage.

>jump drive

Attached: 1530320874205.png (739x697, 109K)

It's a flash stick

Attached: 1534563939375.jpg (269x211, 8K)

>zip disquette

USB 2.0??? You fucked up.

>bus powered non-mechanical storage

my dad calls them the computer
he also calls the internet the computer
and he calls the computer a computer
so when he says
>can you you help me get my computer on the computer so I can get on the computer and send a pic
hes trying to email

>but they are not durable.
user, an USB stick with a garbage controller and cheapest possible flash is one of the shittiest storage mediums you can buy

I bought a 2TB flash drive on wish but when I put it in my computer a little song plays from inside it and then my computer shuts off

it's /dev/sdc1

it's actually /dev/disk/by-uuid/bda651651b65654d61-b65166a664d664f646f161e65-5f4165a4d6161b

no /dev/mapper/Encrypted\x20Drive

it looks cool but you overpaid for something with aspirations beyond its technical limitations.

aspirations it could never attain.

return those shits and get a new external hd

Shill faggot.

>Thinking shit tier NAND in a $30 flash drive is more durable than higher quality NAND with a better controller SSD
You're brain damaged.

>USB 2.0
>256GB
Enjoy taking 10 hours to transfer the data.

so i am supposed to believe a ssd will survive a drop test on pavement?

i know a flash drive will

if a ssd cannot survive a drop test on pavement it is not more durable than a flash drive. fuck off

i don't mind waiting that long. implying i am going to be transfering all at once. i'll do it 3 at a time

maybe if you didn't drop your shit all the time like an idiot you wouldn't need to settle for a pen drive

when you travel a lot eventually you're going to bump it or drop it.
even bumping it while it's on can fuck it up.

>be me
>have 3 sandisk cruzers
>2 have windows on them and work fine
>one is like 5 years old

????

it's really really easy to not bump or drop something, you know

wtf there is a difference?

i thought thumb drive and usb flash drive were the same thing

>i don't care about write speed.
With 4k movie sizes I made sure to get a fast USB 3.1 128GB flash drive

Writes at 350MB/s+

Only downside is price, ~$115 for the 256GB version.

i don't watch movies in 4k. i find 4k to be unnecessary(unless it's for fap material)

all the movies i have stored are in 720p.

>tfw sony microdrives are ridiculously expensive

OP, stop. I refuse to believe someone can be this stupid.

according to google, they are all the same thing

Attached: Screenshot from 2018-08-20 20-24-52.png (707x290, 64K)

Yes, well done.

Files left on flash storage without electricity (not plugged in) will start to degrade.

Not if you cold store them. That's why I bought a mini fridge.

call him a dumb boomer faggot

Or, yaknow, you could not be an actual ape and take care of your electronics

>there must be a reason why they are cheap?

Because its like 40 dollars for a reasonable 120gb SSD these days, so id imagine you can get a 256 ssd for about 75 dollars, id bet micro sds are like 25 dollars for 128gb.

Its ram and gpu costs that are brutal right now.

>but they are not durable
Magnetic storage will last decades. Cheap flash storage like USB drives will start leaking electrons within a couple months of being unpowered. Enjoy your data loss.

>USB 2.0
