Partition wizard has been running for 12 hours, I'm trying to shrink a partition of 1tb to 700gb, with 300gb of files in it
The gui has been stuck since 37 seconds in (0%), but the hdd has always been working
Now only the cooling is still working like it is on load, but I think only the cpu is doing something
Should I keep waiting? How long would this last?

It might damage the partition table, but this can be repaired. It's your best bet.

Even if that does happen you can always just try and repair the gpt/mbr as you personally know how the drive was formatted before attempting to change it.
