Thoughts? I always feel I hear speech more on my right and more bass on my left. Could just be hearing loss but otherwise this would explain it.

I feel like my right ear is dominant but if i try to focus on the left then it takes dominance. I think it is mostly in my head but there seems to be some sort of preference to right focus. Almost like my brain is working with the sound on the right by default.

ok anons, which headphones are the best for jpop/kpop? I read that any non-revealing, non fatiguing treble and fun headphones are good to go.

I already tried searching through all internet but only found these as usual recomendations: Audio technica AX00/ADX00 series, beyer T1, MSR7, DT770, SRH940 and maybe HD650.

>best
Stax L700
>more reasonable
HD6X0 series, DT1990, MA900

I was looking at these. Any good??

Finally moved up to a ZX300 the other day from an NW-A35 (which was a big step down from my old AK70...).
Running Andromedas off the balanced input and it is quite amazing. Honestly can't imagine changing this for a long while 'til a possible move up to a WM-1A.

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?

Attached: 1524730525237.png (1280x721, 1.07M)

Bumping this post of the previous thread: Are they not bright ? Most of the reviews I've read state that they're definitely on the brighter side of neutral.

I wouldn't call them rolled-off but I don't remember the treble ever bothering me. I'd point you towards something with a leaner sound signature like Etys.

What quantifies the quality of bass?

the isolation along low frequencies

Nothing wrong with your setup user, it's very comfy.
Not pictured: HS5 Monitors that I use a majority of the time.

Pro 82, CB-1, or 668b for over ear.
CAL! for on ear.
Tin Audio T2 for IEM, apparently there are some quality issues. I use the Carbo Tenore personally.

>What quantifies the quality of bass?
Low distortion and fast decay.

thanks to you now I don't see than fucking abomination.
I have them stock and werk just fine. Today I was on the bus listening some king crimson and I felt like crying in public, King Crimson is so good and this headphones reveal them exactly how I like it. I may do the same mod but the original cable is so fucking good quality, I just tuck it in my pocket with my phone if I'm around the city. What's more likely is that I will get an earpad swap, the Yaxis look cool. I like the stock sound better than with Beyers so I don't use them, but they are good just if the weather is unbearable hot, but then I more than likely will not use them because it still is hot.
Also it BTFO every other monitor headphone on sells which is good because it says this model is reliable.

I want a headphone just to watch movies and anime/VN's, so I guess I care about voice quality. Budget is 150usd, I've got the Sennheiser Hd559 in my mind.

AD900X.

Thanks it looks very good, and the price is just right too.

Like one user said before, in technical sense it is fast decay and low distortion, but I’d also add that it also needs just the correct kind of frequency response with enough extension. There needs to be enough bass power when a song calls for it, but it should not be so prominent that every slightest hint of bass turns into bombastic bloom. Basically, planars like LCD2(C) are the best for this, they have ruler-flat frequency response for bass right down to the bottom, which is rarely achieved by conventional dynamic drivers.

However, there’s always the matter of personal preference: many love a slight midbass bloom such as in HD650, and many prefer to have more quantity than is considered neutral (biodynas like Fostex TH-X00). But objectively speaking, good planars always do it best.

No problem. Do check a few reviews online before buying though, just to make sure it is what you want.

Grado SR60e

What cable are you using?

Lyr?

I believe is the asgard 1, although the lyr lineup seems to have a similar issue

I'm not up on all that drama but if they're cranking up the volume it's no surprise. What other than HE-6 can come close to needing 9w@16ohm?

Would these fit on the cheap monoprice headphones? Looking for something I can take with me anywhere in backpack and not be at a loss if it breaks.

>Those tenderly loved Andros with all that wear on the anodizing
You, I like. Honestly, if the Andro plays well with the ZX300 (and you don't have other IEMs/cans that demand it) there's probably no reason to move up to another DAP for now.

Is this supposed to be a late-90's meme image or something?

Attached: folsk1.jpg (2546x1582, 654K)

You think /hpg/ was inspiring internet meme's in the 90s? How old are you?

Butthole Surfers, my nig
Strange choice of album though I hope that isn't the only one you've listened to. Psychic... Powerless... Another Mans Sac is where it is at

Older than I should be to still be around here, however:
>Those headphone models
>Oasis
>New Radicals
>Everclear
>WINAMP WHIPPING THE LLAMA'S ASS
>Husbando in neon/dayglow nightmare of an outfit
Sure reeks of the late 90's/Early 00's to me.

that's the only one i've heard sadly. i love it to death though. i'll grab the others :o

You're in for something that is totally different. Don't get anything after larryland. I envy you, the buttholes discography is legendary

is this a meme or real talk?
I am considering getting a hd600 and I've been pouring research in it for the last couple of days. I do want to listen to some edm with it and I'm worried the bass will be too weak.
Coming from a m50x btw.

I'm an Independent Worm Saloon man, myself.

Hd600 is fine, they sound great with aphex twin and autechre.

Worm Saloon is good but was the beginning of their end, the succumbing to old age, sobriety, and commercial tunes. Butthole Surfers captured hallucinogenic psychosis like no other band.

Truth. It's a shame that I was too young to see them live in their prime, I can only imagine that it was a quasi-religious experience like seeing GWAR or Alice Cooper at their peaks.

Already have the hd600 looking for some closed headphones that I can take out in public and noise won't leak in though or out... Please give me one recommendation each for an iem and over ear... Similar price to hd600 and similar sound. Thanks anons appreciated

Attached: 1523684234911.jpg (300x300, 67K)

Yeah their hayday was before my time as well, the 82-86 live era was supposed to be some real weird shit

lol suck my d pussy

I listen to a lot of drum and bass, trap, dubstep, etc. It took me couple days to get used to my HD600s but I enjoy the bass on them. The sub bass rolls off compared to a closed back but it's still pleasant.

I like it

>Dubstep
If it's not burial it's not worth it.

I should also mention I am running it off an O2 amp. I don't know if it makes an actual difference but supposedly lower output impedance improves the low end on headphones.

lol yeah i heard they went soft on larryland
listened to one or two earlier songs and its rough af
will go download albums or hell buy some cds

i have boc on 33, don't judge me for buying the cd lol

Attached: firefox_2018-08-22_22-32-09.png (2217x731, 208K)

I think I will be getting the o2 amp with it too. My five year old m50s are getting rough and I want something new.

Hell yeah
Haven't listened, saved pic on mobile so hopefully it reminds me later

If nothing else it's worth it to me just because adjusting volume with a knob is fun.

yeah lol another mans sac cost me a bit much for what id usually pay, bit of an outlier lol

Attached: 9f2dbd2b0e6afe2bb0f4e6cdb14c2443.jpg (2048x1024, 208K)

Which amp/dac should i get for the hd 58x ( 150ohm , 104db/v ) ? Preferably portable and costs less than $200

Can you notice a difference with the o2 amp? I am just going to be using them on my computer.

Never abx tested, I was going to have my wife help me tomorrow after work.

But there is no empirical evidence I know of that one solid state amplifier sounds different than another. It's mostly an indulgence

>$200 pi hat dac
>balanced mini-xlr outs 5V at 0dB
>2xPCM1794A dual mono config
>amir tested
should I buy?

Sennheiser HD 4.40. They have the Sennheiser house sound and are very good for bluetooth.
The CAL! are good for wired, more bass than the HD600.

Does it do the things that you want at a price that you are comfortable paying for said things? Does it seem like it's constructed in a manner which fits your needs re: durability and quality? If you answered yes to these questions, then yes. If you answered no, or are considering similar products which do fit this framework, bide your time and make a decision when your research has returned an obvious answer.

Attached: Gettin real tired of your bullshit.jpg (960x777, 78K)

ayy let's go. I don't currently have an amp so I'm thinking o2 would be way better than no amp at all.

Attached: Capture.png (500x250, 26K)

There's one user in here that says they sound good even on a nintendo DS so you should be okay even without one.

Got to listen to this setup today. What did I think of them?

Attached: Sennheiser-HD-820-Headphones-2.jpg (820x492, 28K)

Tell us lol

I'm a pleb with nothing to compare it to outside of a HD 579 and previous gaymer headsets so take this post with a grain of salt. I listened to this and the 800S side-by-side. 820s have better bass and the other conveniences of being closed but the treble was not as good as the 800S.

They're on the ALO Litz terminated in the 4.4mm Pentaconn. Was originally gonna get something from Effect Audio; I wanted the Thor (all silver), but the Ares is the only one I can justify paying for.

It definitely pairs very well. The ZX300 in general leans warm though, while the WM1A is more analytical and manages to extract better microdetails in the high registers, as well as deliver cleaner, less muddled bass.
Definitely have to think about it though, considering the price, combined with the sheer size and weight.

Ken Ball just put up stainless steel Andromedas for pre-order the other day too and I would love to grab a pair if I only had the finances. Their finishing and polish on steel looks amazing.
