It's ugly

And it wiĺl give well over 60 fps at 4k with hdr.

Looks more like 1.3-1.4x for any game that doesn't pay up for Nvidia to create predictive models to render their game

>50% faster

The price is almost the same as the price of the 1080 on release

I can't find the report option for repost. Also it's more like 35-40% on average here.
Basically it's slower than a (cheaper) 1080Ti in most games. Only slightly faster than the 1080Ti in async compute games.
That's what I said it'd be and people called me a liar and dumb AMD shill for my accurate predictions. Thanks for backing me up, OP, even if it's a repost.

Oh. Apparently no reposting isn't an official Jow Forums rule.
You'd think it would be.

It's over twice as good as the card I have now, so it's a no brainer upgrade.

no it's not tho

haha le very funy

its a no brainer alright

nvidiot shill btfo

But my 1080 runs everything fine on maximum anyway, why would I consider spending megabux to upgrade when it would be way cheaper to buy another secondhand 1080 for SLI when I need the performance?

The 1080 was double the speed of a 980 without dlss kikery.

This is a baby jump.

1080 also came out a year later and was $150 more instead of twice as much. Yep.

Raytracing is to RTX what Kinect was to Xbox One. A pointless forced feature that nobody will use, but still have to pay for. The difference is that there's no PS4 equivalent to steal its thunder by being $100 cheaper and still more powerful in the traditional sense. The result of monopolies.

hahaha

ya know what else is 50% faster than a 1080?

the 1080 Ti i've owned for a year and a half

As if the majority of you poor fucks could even afford this card to play your AssFaggots and ForkKnife.

sleep tight upper

rtx 2080 ti in india will be over 100000 rupees. will stick to 1080 ti

Which kinda makes it a pointless GPU if nobody but the 0.1% of whales are the only people that can afford it. Don't expect those 'silky smooth' *COUGH* framerates on a 2070 or even worse a 2060. They barely got 40 FPS @ 1080p in Shadow of the Tomb Raider on a RTX 2080 Ti. Yeah they will get that framerates up a bit but don't expect too much more.

The ti is about 25% faster

That's with raytracing on genius.

>1080p with XUSOENCHFXAA is now 4K

Precisely. We need to know what the performance is like in REAL existing games. Not what future games maybe/perhaps will have. There is no point jumping the gun unless you are a retarded whale.

>it's okay that framerate is shit at 1080p on $1200 GPU because the sole feature that makes the card "worth" buy is enabled, and it's still only 20% higher FPS than the 1080Ti with it disabled
kek

A Vega 56 (€450) is literally half the price of a RTX 2080 (€900+). There is no way that one RTX 2080 will be faster than two Vega 56 in crossfire.
This is not even counting the Gsync tax.

Here retard

Crossfire sucks. Doesn't work for most games and uses tons of power. And you can buy a 2080 on scan for £715. Which is around 730 euros. That's a similar price to the 1080 on release.

The 2080ti will be 50% faster than the 1080ti

>GTX 1080
launch price $549
>RTX 2080
launch price $700

Pretty sure you're retarded.

Attached: 13475-8449-25348.png (450x443, 102K)

>RTX 2080
>launch price $700
Good fucking joke. Name one store that sells one for $700.

What's wrong with SLI? I would've thought it more usable than it used to be with how technology advances.

Sli/crossfire is almost dead

Am I just dumb or does this make no sense? DLSS is a form of supersampling, so how can the performance(prob fps in this case) be better with it turned on?

Vega 56 is barely faster than a 1070

You're just dumb. DLSS doesnt actually render the screen at 4k, it renders at 1080p and does image manipulation on the rendered frame to upscale it to 4k. Editing a 2d frame is much quicker than rendering natively at 4k apparently. Think of it as machine learning assisted upscaling

To the place where the possible and the impossible meet
To become: the possimpible

Sell them immediately. In a month when 9900k and RTX benchmarks coming out your fucked.

Thanks

the 2070 is 25% faster than the 1080.

that's the exact same as last generations and 50$ cheaper.

the prices are literally cheaper the ti is a fucking titan with a new name wake the fuck up.

please hire me nvidia I shill real good

if you already own a GTX 1080 then getting an RTX 2080 is dumb. just buy another 1080 for $400 SLI it and get the same performance as a 2080 and 16GB of video ram.

anyone upgrading from 1080 to 2080 is pure retard,

All these fresh new "features" these companies come out with the part fools with their money, see:

>4K
>PhysX
>Raytracing
>HBM2 memory
>RGB
>smartphones with 6GB of RAM, 4K displays, and no headphone jack
>"4K" consoles

Among others

you are pure retardation

This guy gets it. We should stop technology advancement!

>8GB video ram is enough for ultra, HDR and 4k
t.brainlet

Your boy has a 760 and I game in 1080p 60hz, I will be upgrading to 144hz 1080p. What card should i be getting?

RTX 2080 will easily be at least twice as fast as 1080 after a couple driver updates.

If you know what I mean.

no it wont - dont believe the nvidia lies. they both have 8GB of video memory this is a brickwall that the 2080 cant get past.

An RX 570 or RX 580 with 8 GiB VRAM.
Also make sure the monitor has Freesync.

>RX 570 or 580 for 144Hz
unless all you play is DOTA, this is a dumb choice
2018 games struggle to hit above 60 when maxed out
t. RX480 owner with a 144Hz panel

no open source drivers

you didn't know what he meant

>16GB of video ram
This isn't how SLI works, VRAM doesn't "stack".

Memory capacity does not impact FPS as long as it is sufficient. Having 8GB, or 16, or 1024TB of VRAM changes nothing if the game doesn't even use 8GB in the first place.

>Memory capacity does not impact FPS as long as it is sufficient.

but 8GB isnt sufficient if a game is maxed out, at 4k and using HDR. tthere are several old games that need over 10GB with those settings.

Not many games use it. It's mostly a way to wave your technopenis in benchmarks.

You have to keep in mind this is cherry picked and they did the same for the 980 to 1080 launch.
Even though there is about the same performance increase according to their cherry picked results, the price increase is higher this time. The MSRP for each the 1070, 1080 and 1080ti were only increased by $50 each. This time the MSRP is increased by $120, $150, $300 respectively. If the price only increased by $50 dollars each like they did last time, no one would be complaining.
