It won't blow it out since the 1070 didn't blow out the 980Ti but it'll probably be similar. The big difference here though is that the 1080Ti still has more ROPs, more RAM, and more memory bandwidth.

But in the past, cards with fewer ROPS, less ram, and less memory bandwidth have won out due to better architecture,, right? Raytracing is also fairly easy to implement. The point is the computer does most of the work for you. In theory you just have to put in light sources and reflective/refractive indices of surfaces. I heard it's as simple as turning an option on in graphics software.

technically underclocked 1080s because they could actually beat the 1080s at proper clock speeds due to being a revised 1080 with some few tweaks but like 10 less FPUs

By 15% maybe, I'm more concerned with the thermal performance of the 2080ti, jewvidya didn't go for dual fan cooler when they had the gtx480 which ran hot as hell, why switch now?
Add to that all the AIB cards I saw almost all of them had huge 3 slots coolers slapped on them.

Well its TDP is like 5% more so it can't be that much hotter right? Physics says that the heat is completely dependent on the amount of watts there are.

What reviewers? There's nothing to review, the cards aren't out and NVIDIA hasn't given us a single gaming benchmark that wasn't rendered invalid by real time raytracing.

I'm guessing daul fans because they don't like 3rd party vendors and having 2 fans makes it more appealing to those who assume FE has bad thermal solutions. They will make $100 from thin air for each card if they can manage stop 3rd party vendors.

True, let's assume 2080ti runs 10% hotter than 1080ti, doesn't explain the huge heatsinks used in AIB cards.
At first I thought the same + it's payback for the GPP shitstorem, but that still doesn't explain beefy 3 slots coolers on AIB cards, Why would you put such a coolers on your cards if it's not "needed" when you know by doing this you're losing the customers who want to build small form factor pc's?

It's not that simple. Developers need to add in specific support for Nvidia's closed implementation of ray tracing.
This means no game currently out will support ray tracing effectively making the whole thing a meme.
