Same here.

I'm gud for a while.

Spending more than 400$ for a GPU is retarded.

Yep, got me an i5 2500k, 7970 HD, and 16gb of ram under the hood.
*sips*
They just don't make em like they used to.

Yes, I'm autistic, please don't be too harsh.

Same exact situation as you user. I'm debating whether or not my next upgrade should be a really nice monitor or a vive.
Leaning towards the vive right now just because it seems more fun.

GTX 760 2GB here,

hold me lads

>stay awake for a few more hours than I was hoping to
>bought an R9 295X2 within the first few minutes

Feels good being set for a long time. This card absolutely crushes it and I don't see that changing any time soon.
Although I might be tempted to sell it to subsidize a 1080ti if the prices drop low enough with the gigaray cards coming

FeelsGoodMan

bought 2, 2080 ti.

enjoy norays for the next few years.

:-*

I had a 3570k that i wound up pairing with a GTX 1080 when the 660sc I built it with wasn't good enough anymore. It was good for 1080p but i moved to 1440 at 144 fps and saw a HUGE gains from updating to an 8700k.

OK let's get this down for someone who is buying new GPU.
Option 1) Get rtx 2080ti because it is cheaper than titan V and better than Titan xp
Option 2) Get titan xp because Pascal still better arch than rtx
Option 3) Get titan V
Option 4) Be deal with last year 10[7,8]0 ti and console yourself

For me the best option is Option 1.

This, got the last in stock and a week later the restocked price was 2.5x what I paid

I still have an i5 2500k, 770 and 8 gigs of ram , think I'm doing just fine. Maybe I should go to 16 ram but them ram prices though.

same, and my monitor is shit, so no worries...

u jelly.

What is your reason for buying a new GPU? If it's just gaming, meh. Get whatever is good enough for 1080p and 60fps.

> 1080p in 2018

do you know GPUs are not just for gaming ?

if you do any graphic design (photoshop, video editing) or 3d modeling or rendering, or graphics programming you need a good GPU.

>2gb
>2018

Attached: 1331743501975.jpg (313x286, 17K)

Somehow I have some dirty money to hide. That's why. Don't wanna go titan V because it's obviously 3 times costlier than 2080ti.

What about VR? It doesn't just have gaming applications I've seen it used in other ways such as mental health research. We've also seen this in how VRChat (though you don't need vr for that it allows desktop too) has helped people with anxiety etc.

enjoy your 4k gaming at 10 FPS

>Just wanted an RX480
>Got a 1050Ti instead but managed to get it for retail during the height of the cryptoshit process increases
I guess it's not so bad though. It'll last me a while, I'm fine with playing games on medium or lower settings.

>Bought 1070
>Probably gonna upgrade to either a 2080 or 1080Ti once the benchmarks come out.

I knew getting it as a 4k card was going to be a stretch but it has performed admirably. Recently I have to crank settings down to unacceptable levels to keep performance up at that resolution though.

im not upgrading my gpu until my monitor fails because is vga only. At that point i might as well upgrade my cpu but thats not possible without buying a new motherboard and while you are at it might as well double the ram.

so never

If money isn't a big deal for you, why would that be retarded ?

Personally I've never paid more than I think around 300-350 and that was for my 770. It seems like that is the fair spot. Not too crazy expensive but not too cheap that you aren't getting anything really that good. Maybe I'm wrong now and inflation's made that shift to 400

>bought a GTX 1080 for 4k gaming
>its shit at it
got memed by nvidia once, never again.

Same. Bought a 8GB Gainward 1070 Phoenix GS for under 400 Euro back in December 2016. The same one is at least 450 right now, lol.

inflation isn't that fast user

Inflation I don't just mean from natural economic but price inflation from stuff like the crypto miners making the average price go up.

>tfw still using 7970 and feel no need to upgrade
Feels good

Attached: 1526628870071.jpg (250x229, 8K)

gonna trade in my 1080 for a 2080, does the raping never end?

> never again
you know damn well you'll buy another one, why lie to yourself ?

>mfw RX480 still holding up well

Attached: 1532814377013.png (600x579, 257K)

>bought a 960 because 970 was 350 and I thought that was too expensive

I've made a mistake.

fuck off and die, frogposter
ironic frogposting is still frogposting.

At least you are rich.

Spending more than $300 is retarded.

Is Trump still president at your time?

I was running a 7850 up until about a year ago. That card served me well for many years.

>buys a number
>?????

same here. feelsgood

?

Nvidia BTFO

>2012
>purchased i7-3770
>purchased 16 GB RAM
>purchased GTX 650 with 1GB VRAM
Gonna pick up a 1070 or 1080 soon; waiting for Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales though
Only have 1080p, 60 Hz monitors. I just need more VRAM for games made after 2014

Better than spending it on a phone or a girl

Only gaymen man children spend money on gpus

That’s not how Sli works user.

>bought a Rx 470 8gb 2 years ago.
>Plays everything at 1080p Max settings
>Pairs well with my 27 inch freesynch monitor.

Yeah I don't think I'm going to need to upgrade for a few more years myself. Life's good.

but it does though, a 2080 has 8GB which is already not enough for ultra at 4k, SLI 1080s have 16GB and will perform better.

the 2080 only having 8GB is a massive fuck up.

>buy 1050ti
>won't ever need to upgrade
>The only time I have fun with games anymore is playing some CS with friends

My 290 (No X) is just like that too. There's just no reason to spend money yet.

>own a 650ti
>not going to fall for meme tracing
>gonna upgrade to 1080 if prices don't go up next week
can't wait

>2700k clocked to 4.8ghz (2012)
