You experience the world and figure out what needs improving of figure out a gimmick

Analyse stocks and your trades
Analyse cryptocurrencies and your trades
Bot some MMO
Make a server stack for at home so you can put all your shit in one place and have RAID5

i don't have stocks or cryptocurrencies

I know this is a meme but unironically a game, dont think in terms of AAA games made on engines. Every programming concept can be made a game and its fun while you make It. It doesnt even need graphics just plain old cli based games. If you are into network stuff try to make a wrapper for a rest api or something similar that hasnt been translated yet for your language.

What if I'm like... not a rich old guy in the burbs, tho?

if it's for a job, re-create a popular app/website/program that you use often

the point is to demonstrate your approach to a common problem

>do I into
Eat shit and die for real

Honestly project euler is pretty fun

I also contributed to the advent of code which had some pretty great exercises

Find something you'd like and try to make it.

Look up API and use them

make something that will give you or other people dopamine rushes

but what makes people happy

I can think of plenty and have only limited time and drive.

help me out then fugger

I find something that I like, but is missing a feature I want/doesn't work the way I want it to/whatever and write my own version.

Is .NetCore okey?

iot stuff, build something that will turn on the lights for you or jerk you off

nah i was looking at experimenting with haskell, erlang or go

make a bot for an old mmorpg from ypur childhood and sell gold, it might still be alive. think outside the box

Build something that's already been done. Image host, image board or something like that but try to improve on the existing stuff.

Automate something
Then make it generalised so it can fill many similar tasks instead of one specific task

WHT ARE UR SKILS

Analyse corn and maize
Analyse tractor and machinery
Bot some internet forum
Make a haystack for at home so you can put all your shit in one place and have FRMM2

fork free softwares and write better guis for them

like what? writing
electron
could be a fun experience

I just thought of stuff that I was interested in or would make my life easier. I made an app for syncing & transcoding music files based on tags and learned a lot about multithreading in the process.

What are you into? Purely software, or do you like to tinker with hardware as well?
no. it wouldn't. good luck even building it
if you can commit to writing bs on the internet, you can commit to disconnecting the internet and writing something else.

i was coding something the other night and all of a sudden something started to jerk me off. i asked my girlfriend about it and she left me.

make something like a music player, but for hentai, so that we can have tags for our 2d porn

use exhentai's API to retrieve tags

writing a raycasting engine is not that hard and it's pretty fun. you could write a maze generator and make some kind of maze game.

Personal projects aren't supposed to be anything except at least one of the following

1. You find something that hasn't been done, or you think could be done better.
2. You reinvent some existing thing to show you can complete a nontrivial application

Maybe this just isn't for you.

I have a domain name, email service and seedbox.
What should I try doing with them Jow Forums?

That sounds really interesting!!

Any tips to help me get started on this?? I don't know exactly where to begin!?

I have some ideas that I want to script for work but I don't want to work in the off hours bc I dont want to feel like a workaholic. but it sucks that i have no other ideas for personal projects.

feels bad man

Probably this one...
