wow what a fucking faggot

/thread

Sublime has been superceded, it's fast and all, but for large applications you use a professional IDE, and for medium applications you use VSCode.

Sorry Sublime was good while it lasted, but it's time to move on.

VScode is zoomerware

The fuck does that even mean?

it means something he doesnt like

fpbp, ST isn't even among good commercial editors

>t. vim/emacs ricers

>t. boomer

Professional IDEs are boomerware.

and your mom is freeware lmao

>not shareware
One job

if your a fag editing php

what about xcode?

Attached: 1278863586507.jpg (519x600, 76K)

More like shareware lmao

it's fine for nigger wordpress bullshit

this, IntelliJ Idea for me has been a rock

>// Start the loop.

>and get the_post

ahh.. nothing beats pasting and changing around utterly cryptic shit in vimrc for longer period of time than the actually intended purpose i installed the editor for

also, what does Jow Forums think about micro?

truth

>
>t. zoomer

no, it actually is zoomerware and you'll never see a boomer using shit like vscode/atom/etc unless they really just don't know any better or they've given up. it's just another religious programming thing, the people who demand a GUI and the others who demand a CLI. at least the latter isn't just a glorified web browser (botnet btw)

>electron

>and you'll never see a boomer using shit like vscode
It blows everything else out of the water when it comes to typescript support. The only thing that comes close is WebStorm.

notepad supports typescript just fine what the fuck else do you need

Attached: nigga-trippin.jpg (500x408, 121K)

go sit in the middle of the road and let a car run over you

>the virgin electron """app"""
>the chad nagware

>a program made in language X has the best language X support
wow

get a load of this guy, trolling like a fucking boss. Some next level shit right here

install the ayu theme and thank me later

Just use the one you like and stop complaining. I use VSCode, I'm sure there are better ones out there but for me it does everything I need and I really like it, it's very comfy

fuck that bitch he should thank you now, she should also give you a thorough bj for delivering that tip with trips

Both Atom and VS Code do what they do but better.

What IDEs don't slow down to a crawl when your project reaches +50,000 files?

I like it too but I am also a Mac user and there are no other good options except religious movements.

Sell Sublime to me user.
What's the good, bad, and ugly?
Describe your workflow
What do you require to make it work well for you?

*sips*

took this month off to configure emacs to my liking

tomorrow i'll finally be able to start on my hello wolrd project

You have to be completely insane to use an editor that doesn't support line numbering.

Textpad

Just use Geany.

Attached: 1200px-Geany_logo.svg.png (1200x1200, 251K)

It's okay but it is way too unpolished for $70.
Editing the config file manually like some neanderthal savage? GTFO.
VSCode is way too slow.
There is no universe in which I should be able to type faster than a text editor can keep up.
All they had to do was copy Sublime and they couldn't even do that with a whole team of developers.

This. Geany is the ultimate editor blazing fast and just werks

I personally prefer Sublime because it seems to have an opt-in attitude to features, whereas a whole bunch of other shit I've tried seems to just want to shove shit down your throat.

I _almost_ liked VS code, especially as it has an option to use the Sublime shortcuts which are now baked into my DNA, but I don't really like the way they handle "windows" (I don't know what to call them. Views into files? Tabs?)

Also, Sublime's vanilla themes are terrible, but with the Atom-like theme, it also looks pretty damn good, desu

>Not Notepad++
For what purpose?

TextMate is a great editor

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-08-26 at 20.13.22.png (2050x1678, 514K)

TextMate is definitely the best choice for macOS.

excuse me OP what the fuck is that code, i hope you didn't write this

is //starting the loop to get the_post() too advanced for you nigga? You aint 'bout that wordpress life

samefag

For me it's GNU Emacs, the best editor.

Attached: phil.jpg (1366x768, 173K)

no I got it from google images.

I like Kate and Geany

no open source, just fuck it.

I like Kate too, just wish it had some more features and more plugins

I meant to reply to him, but w/e

>video games are made in c++
Why don't they support c++ again?

It means it's new and hip and full of cool useful features that he doesn't know about so he thinks it's for people under 22.

Calling it is zoomerware is actually a positive for me. I'm absolutely terrified of succumbing to baby duck syndrome.

>nigga
fuck off back to the zoo tyrone.

i mean why the fuck do you need to comment that. also who the hell writes a while loop like that

Using VS-code for embedded C. Falling in love with the sleek look and how it just werks.

Either vim or VSCode or fuck off

vscode is nice, but when i think is made by Microsoft instantly makes me to open vim

I use Atom, Sublime, VS2018

There are these things called plugins you should all try them sometime.

cursed image

>its not even indented

Intellij, because why the fuck not.
Lel I used that when I was in my first year of CS, writing C code.

I hope they used equality checks instead of assignments and vice versa on purpose.

this is highly unprofessional, you just don't bait and switch like that. Too much is at stake user

>because why the fuck not.
Because it's a slow Java mess

Works on my machine :^)

>Love==Life;
>Life==Gabi;
>Gabi==Love;

ok, I don't get the idea of that, why the ==?

The tattoo artist fucked up

Sure wasn't the guy himself, who no doubt wrote it down on a piece of paper for the artist to duplicate.

Guy probably just had his first week of learning C, was all enthusiastic and decided to get a tattoo.

TextMate or BBEdit?

>For me it's Sublime Text, the best text editor.
In the end all the discussion around which text editor is best is pointless, if you're productive with sublime, then that's the right one for you.

Fortunately I don't use sublime but the true and best text editor out there, VSCode

been using micro for most of 2018, i like it a lot

>Using anything but vim or emacs

Attached: 1522247282380.jpg (900x900, 83K)

c o d e : : b l o c k s
fight me

I don't hit women or children.

>I'm absolutely terrified of succumbing to baby duck syndrome
so you'll just use anything they serve you
what a stupid shithead you are

It's worked so far. Maybe I'm just smart.

I don't do any coding but is Sublime the best for taking notes in class/writing essays?

Doesn't this work, though?

delet. i finished my init.vim / zshrc / tmux.conf over a year ago and still havent started hello_world.txt
