If you could only have a laptop and no desktop

What would it be? make/model/os/hw/largest screen size and a minimal budget

My T410. It's pretty much my portable desktop until I decide on getting a workstation type of thinkpad.

Not for gaming, but for general purposes and running vm's.

Haven't owned a desktop in about 8 years and have been running off only a HP 15-ba028ng for a year now.

15.6" whatever don't care. They're all basically the same.

thinkpad x220 with docking station, about $200 in all. i5, 8gb ram, ssd

thinkpad x220, manjaro. all i need

Librem 15

Macbook Pro 13", 2012. Max out RAM to 16GB, put big SSD in it. Has ports, DVD.

Doesn't play vidya, which is a feature.

workstation thinkpad

$120 used 11" chromebook with stuck keys and scuffed screen running ubuntu. Perfect for comfy shitposting on japanese metalworking boards

I was going Thinkpad but wasn't sure of going T5XX or T4XX. X220 I have but, muh eyezzzzzz...

thinkpad is the best idiot

13 inch mbp, maxed out. no touchpad.

>6th gen intel U processor
>incomplete numpad
>oversized trackpad
>not the Authentic Business Experience
hard pass

What are the lesser idiots?

You're the best idiot.

What is the worst idiot?

T530 i7 16GB 500GB SSD replace the DVD with 1TB SSD running Linux - thoughts Jow Forums?

W541, that's all you need.

how much and go back to >>>/tpg/

If I can't have a desktop, do I really have the need for a PC at all, my smartphone already can do much and has Debian on it that can be used with a Bluetooth keyboard+mouse and large screen when needed

maxed out macbook pro 13 inch
or
maxed out surface book 2
Whichever has the better student discount. Nothing else has similar premium design
>inb4 appel """premium""""

X220+dock.

Got that, but with X200.

Pretty happy with my Latitude 5590 desu

Probably a Latitude, definitely a business-line laptop. Fedora 28, possibly dual boot with Windows 10. Ryzen 7 2700U, 2x8GB DDR4 2666MHz, preferably an M.2 SSD for OS drive because a free SATA port would be nice and 250GB would be plenty for me, 14-15" 1080p or higher resolution display.

Must have:
At least 3-4 USB ports
SD card slot
RJ45 NIC
802.11a/b/g/n/ac
At least two display connectors, VGA/HDMI 2.0/DisplayPort
3.5mm jack
Removable battery

I'd like to pay less than $1k for this but realistically it would be closer to $1.2-1.4k.

Thinkpad P50 my current machine and I don't have a desktop so yeah.

Literally what I got. That with xfce runs things smoothly. I just want a bigger ssd. Gets hot sometimes and there's a few things I cant run well but nothing I cant live without.
