I really like mumble but they need to get their shit together and release version 1.3. they're getting dropped from distro repositories because of 1.2.x's QT4 dependency. Their main developer has gone MIA and he's the only one who knows how to handle releases and the only one with the certificates. The project is starting to make me sad

steam just got a redesign. they are looking to challenge discord and have made the ui much nicer and improved voice quality.

using discord from the browser will limit the amount of information (specifically running processes) that discord has access to.

Almost every IRC channel that has people in it has a bot that logs everything that's said. Not really that different. That's even assuming that the network operators aren't logging, and they certainly don't have a privacy policy or TOS that tells you anything about what they're doing with the data.
