In this ITT thread: tech buzzwords.

I'll start: blockchain.

Create applications using Industry 4.0. Discover how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities can be enhanced using the Internet of things (IoT) and secured using Blockchain, so your latest app can be not just smarter but also more connected and more secure than ever before. This book covers the latest easy-to-use APIs and services from Microsoft, including Azure IoT, Cognitive Services APIs, Blockchain as a Service (BaaS), and Machine Learning Studio.

IoT I can justify. How would you refer to a network where home appliances are connected?

A network.

IoT is trash. Why the fuck would I need to control a lightbulb by unlocking my smartphone, opening an app, waiting while the app starts and connects and then selecting the bulb? Why don't stand up and press a light switch? Have people become that lazy?
There is almost no need to connect every single device in your house to your network or (even worse) “The Cloud”.

Network is too broad definition in current year...
I'm not saying it's good or not. But there are people with different opinions than you.

cloud is fucking stupid, no one can deny that.

* 3.0
etc.

how is butt tech related?

JS Framework

According to my IT manager: "Unified Threat Management"

Internet of Things (IoT)

That's dead now thanks to the crash.

This is actually not a meme. It's still revolutionizing the IT and CS world

Diversity

Maybe not a meme, but certainly a buzzword that ever company uses in it's marketing ads.
Way before that godawful word was invented, did the technology exist and was it widely used

>solid-state
>multimedia
>personal

>blockchain is a dead buzzword because of the crash
its absolutely not. i still see it everywhere. i was in the airport and saw an hsbc ad for how they were "leveraging blockchain technology"

you're asking the wrong questions detective

Kubernetes

PAN or LAN

LAN serves different purpose. But PAN works.

Why would I want that?

GUID
Btw.. anyone give a coherent rundown on GUIDs and apple products? Are they nefarious?

oh my god fuck this
I'm out

big data

PAN usually means a network between devices on or near your body or in your personal sphere, Bluetooth devices would be the best example for that. LAN on the other hand is an on-site network, connecting (mostly fixed) devices all around the site, so for IoT LAN would be more applicable.

Synergy

i like how "cloud" is "steal" in german. nails the whole thing.

"Digital Twin"

proactive

Being used in ads is just further proof that it's but a buzzword.

how did it go?

never thought klaut sounds like cloud

Embedded systems or SCADA, seeing as that is the actual name for those sort of things.

a botnet

>This is actually not a meme
Yeah but it's still a buzzword because they invented a word to something that already existed.
It's called the internet.

A home network or a LAN like it has always been fucking called.

>Network is too broad definition
A computer network if you wish.

>buttery smooth
STOP FUCKING STOP
