Maybe you should be jumping from a cliff for buying AMD

Oy vey

what you're telling me is to not support competition so that you and everybody else can pay Nvidia $2k for a graphics card?

Should perform on par with an AIB 1080. If you can't find one for cheaper, or you need Freesync, I'd say go for it. Otherwise 1080 is a better deal.

If you don't have freesync, I'd recommend the cheaper 1080's on newegg, i wanted a new AMD card too to go from my r9 390 because i got a 4k monitor, but I was willing to drop the cash on a 1080ti.

1080 for $430

just get a 1080ti, I upgraded from a r9 290 which would turn a gamimg session into a mad heat and noise session and will never buy AMD again

not worth that kind of cash. considering vega just isnt as fast in gaming as the 10 series. you can get a 1080 for less than 500 these days, you can get a 1080 ti for less than 600.

I bought a Sapphyre one for fuckload of money and it does what I want it to do, stays cool and quiet too but I admit It just wasn't a good deal. I bought it because I'm a sapphyre fan

Only fucking retards say things like this. Would you have never bought Nvidia again had you not been 5 years old when Fermi came out and turned your PC into a grill? Buy the product, not the brand, you stupid piece of human garbage.

>considering vega just isnt as fast in gaming as the 10 series
It's equal in performance to the 1080 and only inferior to the 1080 Ti. Imagine literally using the term "the 10 series" as if all the cards within it are amazing just because the 1080 Ti is. What a moron.

Doesn't gigabyte have issues with their 1080s?

/thread

I've got the red devil 56 and i like it a lot.

i undervolted it

Do they? I don't think I've heard anything about that, I was a sapphire + AMD guy until I got my 1080ti

My last three cards were AMD, all sapphire. I'm still torn on getting a V64 vs 1080. Sapphire nitro V64 is still around $650, but 1080s keep dropping in price.

My understanding is that AMD is only competitive up to the 580 vs 1060 tier right now.

i would rather buy a 1060 for 1080p than a vega 64.

i have a gigabyte aorus 1080ti and it has been perfect since last year

I've seen recent gaming benchmarks that show the vega64 beating 1080's in most games, not by a lot, but in most titles, the reason nvidia pulls ahead in every comparison of say, 10 games, is because they include pubg and fortnite, both on the unreal engine which HEAVILY favors nvidia, but the price of 1080's recently makes them far more appealing, I was torn between the v64, 1080, and 1080ti, but i wanted to play games at 4k, and was willing to pay the premium for it, nabbed one for $600 on ebay the day the RTX cards got announced, and kind of sadly look at my r9 390 sitting on my shelves after using it for so long.

Im waiting for the price to drop on the Nitro+ 64, I have Freesync display.

bad news, prices are all going up

If you have the freesync monitor, the power color one seems fine, the sapphire one is $599, while the power color one is $499, yeah the nitro looks sexy, but is that worth the $100?

Sapphire is without a doubt the best quality AIB for AMD

I don't doubt that, thats why when I was getting AMD cards I got sapphire, but thats a $100 premium for it.

Yeah, it will age better than a 1080 as well, I'm sure of that

Nothing is stopping you, but this comment is fucking irrelevant to the entire thread.
